I am in love with this camera. My last camera was also a Canon Powershot, which I bought 5 years ago. Not more than a day after I got this new Canon in the mail, I was telling all my friends and family how much I am enjoying it. It's small and easy to stick in a pocket, but the larger view screen makes it easier to compose shots and check the results. The stabilized zoom is one of my favorite features. I've caught some fantastic shots of my four year old that I never would have been able to get on my older camera. The image stabilizer takes the shake out of the action shots and removes issues that crop up from wind or just your own hand movements. I love this camcorder. My previous one was a Sony, bought some years ago. I wanted to get a hi-def machine so I did some online research and this seemed to be scoring highly, and also had a good price from Amazon. I was also keen to go for the AVCHD as that is becoming more widely compatible. I am impressed with the picture quality. It is easy to transfer files to the PC, using the memory card or with a cable, but you need to use the software that comes with it. The flash memory allows the camera to be very compact but it has a nice feel to it, even though I have quite large hands. The menus could be a little bit more ituitive, but they are not bad. I would recommend this to a friend.

I bought this camera as a replacement for a Canon HV20 which had been dropped and broken. The cameras are nearly identical in function and feel. The videos are very high quailty as are the still images. I use this mostly for family videos, football, baseball, etc... Great picture when viewed on a 1080p capable flat screen through the HDMI cable. Overall very pleased with my purchase.

I've only put 253 pictures and 3 short videos on it so far. Seems to work well with my Canon Powershot SD870IS. I don't need a reader for the SD slot on my 2007 HP PC (Windows Vista), just insert the disc & upload the pics.

it is easy to carry and it has its own attached tiny bag. this way you actually protect the cloth getting dusty and dirty. I recommend it to photographers on every level.

I can't say enough great things about this lense. I have 2 Canon L Series lenses that cost 6 times as much as this one. This lense provides equal quality to all of them. Unbelieve price for such a great lense.
