I got this camera for taking on trips outdoors. I wanted something small that was water proof. Everything works well and the pictures during a sunny day are great. When there is less light, it suffers a bit.

Auto mode picture taking is ok but I wish there were manual modes. It is tough to get the picture I want at night.

ISO 400 and above is grainier than other compact cameras.

The pictures are a bit soft but reproducible to nice prints.

Water proof in the surf. You should definitely give it a fresh water rinse after use. Make sure that there is no sand in the lens cover. I heard that it would get stuck but I have not experienced this yet.

When I mentioned to my brother that I was planning to buy a new digital camera, he told me that he, his son and his daughter all had this model and that they were all very happy with it. Figuring I couldn't get a better recommendation, I bought one for myself. I, too, am very happy with it and look forward to taking it on my next vacation. The picture quality is great and the size is ideal, especially for traveling.

stay with the Canon BP-511A. there's a reason why this battery is $3. first off, they charge you a huge shipping fee. but the two that i got did not hold a charge after the first round. it's worthless at this point. in the trash it goes. consider it as throw-away disposables. you know the old saying... "you get what you pay for".

Fits my Sony Cyber-Shot perfectly. I would have hoped to have a specific compartment (lined with softer material) for the actual camera. The main compartment is large for the camera and it rattles around a lot. But, I am keeping it since it works.

this work fine with my additional Lense cover, but this one doesn't have hole to hook the string to camera.
so have to caeful with kkeping my pocket.
