love the compactness and stylish look of this printer.
initial quality of the print out is comparable to regular photo prints or perhaps even better. compact flash drive built in is absolutely convinient.

However... after putting print picture on my friz door for 2 month. skin tone color has changed to completely green and other colors faded to dark purple. it wasn't exposed to direct sunlight neither. other pictures all suffered discoloration after 2 month. even the ones that were kept well in a frame. it was all printed on premiere papers that came with the printer.

is this the limitation of inkjet technology everyone already aknowledged prior to purchasing? or am I the only one suffering from discolorization ... Read More:

The scanner came on time and in good condition - well packed! I have used the scanner only sparingly so far but it seams to work very well for what I have done. I would seam to be a good unit.

Microtek ScanMaker S400 Flatbed Scanner

I gave it one star because there was no other option. I owned a Scanmaker E3 for years (bought in 1997 and retired in 2007) without issue and now I wasted 100.00 on this no longer supported POS. I've owned this for about a year now. Works well except for the software, which crashes often, and their tech support is a waist of time. Does not support Leopard 10.5, which has determined the rating of zero. Makes me wonder how many more scanners will not be supported. Their website is often down and other reviews state the same issues as I have. I now have an anchor for my boat. Do not purchase a Microtek product. Go with Epson or Canon, both with excellent user reviews.

HP ScanJet 2200c Color Flatbed Scanner (C8507A)

After a three days of successful scanning of about 50 photos, my newly purchased HP2200c scanner made a loud pop, and electrical smelling smoke came from it. It was just sitting there and BANG! It made OK scans (I've seen better) but never worked again after the BANG.

Sony DPP-EX5 Digital Photo Printer

if you are a mac user, this is a great deal for a darn good dye sub printer! install the OSX driver and off you go into iPhoto-land printing all your pictures using all sorts of themes from within iPhoto. my fave tho' is the tried and true simple white edged border. it also does edge to edge no problem. this is NOT a substitute for kodak services if that's your bag, but for at-home creativeness and family album fun this can not be beat. i like to use it with "Comic Life" to add captions and make postcards. it is too much fun, low hassle, and creates great looking prints. so when you are ready to toss the ink jet out the window in frustration, for postcard size prints, check out this little unit.

Microtek ScanMaker 9800XL Scanner with Transparent Media Adapter

The Microtek ScanMaker 9800XL Scanner fast, easy to use, and quiet. I use it with a MacPro and VueScan software ([...]). I also bought the Transparent Media Adapter.

I've scanned 4X5 transparencies and large flat art posters (in sections) and everything matched up perfectly.Plug and play... it was done.

I owned a SCSI Microtek ScanMaker III prior but the cost of a SCSI card for the new Macs and the lac resolution and speed I had to upgrade. I'm glad I did.

Bought this printer about year and a half ago. Was working fine, I was happy with the purchase. Until....Replacing color cartridge. Upon removing the old color cartridge I noticed in the cradle there was thin metal clip/spring that didn't look quite right. Mind you, this was on removing the empty. No abuse, no forcing a new color cartridge. The little thin plastic clip that held in the metal clip/spring in place must have broken during printing with the old color cartridge. I never found it. Looking at the black cartridge cradle. It's thin plastic clip is approximately 2 millimeters thick. Obviously not thick enough to hold the limited stress put on it by the metal clip/spring. HP Deskjet 5440 Photo Printer (C9045A#B1H)

This thing eats ink cartridges like they're going out of style. You'll spend a small fortune buying replacements. I print documents with double-spaced text in Fast Normal mode. At most, I get 100 pages of printing per cartridge - at $20 bucks a pop. What a ripoff!

The reason, according to another one-star review, is that these particular cartridges contain only 5 ml of ink, compared to 42 ml in other cartridges. In other words, the cartridges for the 5440 are intentionally designed to run dry almost immediately.

I don't plan on buying another HP printer in the future. Too bad, because they used to make a good product - before they decided to pad their profits with overpriced, underfilled cartridges.

Epson Stylus Photo R1800 Inkjet Printer

I got his printer in Feb of 2006 b/c I wanted a large format printer...now in 2008 it will no longer print. And y? Well out of media, paper not loaded correctly. I have read the reviews and tried everything..but still not working. Two of my friends have this printer and one of them works fine..the other one same problem. Its very tempermental! I had a epson printer in 2002 and it did the same thing..after a year...then they sent me 2 more referbished ones still same problem. My sister has the epson C86 its aweful! it eats INK,,and the black ink cost 30 dollars! It makes lines through the prints and the text printing is terrible!
