HP PhotoSmart 1215 Photo Printer

I had had two HP printers. Both broke in the same places - where the paper shoots out from the printer; the wings or the "arms" which guide the paper from the printer - both broke easily.

Also I get an annoying message on my computer that the "yellow box marked !" is on and therefore I have to exit out of the printer mode and reset the yellow box so that the ! is deleted. Then go back into the printer mode. This is so annoying that I am never getting an HP Printer again.

If you look on the instruction book, the annoying message can never to resolved - only by resetting the message yellow ! again, and again!!!!!!!!

Canon PIXMA iP6600D Photo Printer

I would HIGHLY recommend buying another printer than this piece of s&#*. It worked fine for the first few weeks, then it suddenly kept coming up with an error message that cannot be bypassed. The Canon tech support was not helpful in the least, and I ended up having to buy a whole new set of ink cartridges. Very disappointed with this product and Canon in general.

HP Photosmart 7850 Printer (Q6335A#ABA)

This is a very good-looking printer; it gives the impression of a solid well-designed product. However after the warranty expired the printer stopped printing. The computer no longer recognizes it.

I tried a new USB cable, a different computer and removing then reinstalling the latest drivers (200 megabytes of bloatware). No luck. And based on what I've read here I'm sure calling tech support will be an exercise in futility.

The funny thing is my old HP 932 printer is still chugging away happily.

Maybe HP should spend a little more on solid engineering and a little less on style.

Now excuse me while I go find my baseball bat, to reenact the field scene from "Office Space"

Epson Perfection 3170 Photo Scanner

Excellent workhorse for all scanning tasks. I've used mine for documents, pictures, slides and negatives with great results. The color correction in most cases provides better scanned images than the original, although there are some cases where the features need to be turned off.

The included PaperPort software (version 8) was very good, but did not recognize Windows folders. However, Scansoft offered a very reasonable "upgrade" to Version 9 Deluxe, which I see as as excellent scan manaement package. Its been about a 1 year and half that I have had this printer and I must say I am very displeased. The first few months of this printer was great! It was fast and print quality was excellent, but that didn't last long. After those few months, this printer started to have major problems. First when printing in quick, better, etc the quality was extremely awful. Left streaks everywhere, like I said, even in better quality. Maybe around the 2 or 3rd try the printer would start to print normally. Want good quality images? Don't do it with this one. It won't give you a single decent picture. Did I mention this thing sucks up ink like there is no tomorrow? Its seems every month, (even on normal print use) I have to buy an ink cartridge. I love lexmark you know, ... Read More:

HP PhotoSmart PSC 2610 All-in-One Printer

I've had this all-in-one for over three years now and still think it's one of the best purchases I ever made. I love it. I use every feature on it (print/scan/copy/fax).

I have never had a problem installing the software that came with it and now have the unit hooked up on a router which is hardwired to a desktop and laptop and wireless to a second laptop. Works like a dream.

I would have no hesitation recommending this unit to someone else and will certainly be buying another HP all-in-one when the time comes (although this one is still going strong).

The good:
- fast printing
- good resolution
- small footprint
- mac compatible

The bad:
- loud
- small manual feed capacity

Overall, i would definitely purchase this product again.

Lexmark P707 Photo Jetprinter

It is not the fastest printer around, but it has worked reliably for me. I use it mostly for black and white document printing.
