Jeez, where to start here. First of all, the price is ridiculously high, even for an item like this that actually works. This one doesn't work, unfortunately.
A. No Mac drivers available anywhere on the internet, even though it has been out around 4 years now. I have a PC also so I used it on that.
B. First 7-8 scans O.K., and then several lines down the middle of all the rest.
I put it back in the box and took it back to the store. End of saga. It's hard to believe that this is such a total pile of junk considering the price, but as others have said this isn't made by Xerox. It's a re-badged Visioneer model, and a crappy one at that.
Don't waste your time or money.

I'm a fairly accomplished amateur photographer. I've got film from Africa, National Parks and other places, and have now put around 500 slides and negatives through this scanner.
It's *great*.
The dynamic range is fantastic. 'Dark' images come through wonderfully. If it was unintentionally underexposed, the 16-bit color depth gives lots of room for adjustment. I was able to rescue many previously useless images and get decent digital files.
Speaking of rescues, many old family photos have rolled through my scanner, and the pleasure of saving and restoring old memories has been of great worth.
The negative strip feeder struggles with strips less than two frames long; some of my old negatives were strangely cut, and I ended up ... Read More:

So far so good. Fairly easy to use for simple titling projects not employing much in the way of graphics, though it has some basic capability I've not yet explored. Will use my Epson R220 for more elaborate needs. Have only had mine couple days, but initial use has been very good. Sure beats titling with a Sharpie. Very pleased with mine.
This was a big disappointment to us. We've always insisted on HP printers in my company, and thought that their scanners would match the printers quality, but that hasn't been the case for us. This scanner is used on a daily basis for numerous small multipage jobs. It randomly stops communicating with the computer it is connected to, requiring IT support to visit on an almost daily basis. It is far too unreliable for us to continue using it. We are in the process of replacing it with another brand.

This is an excellent product that produces pictures with a sharp image and fine quality prints. Handy, compact and convinient to carry anywhere.
When I first tried to scan something on this "all-in-one", it didn't work. I called HP and after a long time on the phone they told me that I needed a special driver to get the scanner to work (even though the printer was working fine).
That was when I was trying to scan a photo. Now I'm trying to scan an 8 x 10 sheet of paper for the first time. On whatever default setting is at work here, the scanner only scans a small section of the paper. I've been looking for a way to change this setting for half an hour.
I'm sure there's some setting or button that will cause this scanner to scan and 8 x 10 piece of paper, and if using my printer was my full time job I'd be happy to look for it some more. But getting this all in one to do it's ... Read More:
I've been using this device for about 12 months now and I'm happy enough with it. Perhaps in the future, I might try this product which seems to get stellar reviews:

Yes, it does seem to jam a lot, and when it does, it does seem to be a pain to get it out, depending on where it is. But for the hundreds of documents I scan in, mainly office papers, it does the work well enough.
It creates searchable PDFs, and I simply scan in a document through the ADF, and it creates a file, subbed by the month, and I'm able to later search the documents by the month.
I also use the flat bed for documents that are strangely shaped, or look as though they won't ... Read More:
We have had 2 brothers MFC machines the latest was MFC-8220 the one before was the same, I am not sure it had the same number but both worked well as a fax and laser printer for 2 years before a plastic gear broke. Both machines had the same problem in about the same length of time.
By far the best printer i have ever owned. I have had Lexmark, Epson, other Canons, HP, and this beats them all hands down. I love the paper tray so i am not always having to reload. Easy on ink. Print quality is outstanding. And it lasts forever. I have never worn out a printer, just print heads and similar parts. But that seems to happen pretty quick after the warranty ends. I don't think i ever had another printer (except the old reliable pre-inkjet type) for that a year. I can't remember when i got this one i have had it so long. I think it is at least 3 years old and maybe a good bit older and still cranking. I think Canon thinks it was a pretty good machine because i returned a different printer that had issues and they replaced it with this one. At first i ... Read More:
