I bought a Canon Pixma Pro9000 a couple years ago, and I didn't use it very often. Now the printer is broken. I've had a Canon i860. It also only lasted a couple of years before one of the printer heads stopped printing. I owned both Epson and HP printers and they all lasted more than a couple years. My HP Photosmart 7350 is still working. The only complain I have about that printer is that the ink doesn't last long. That's the reason I switched to Canon. I think the image quality of the Canon printer is OK, but the hardware quality of their printers is worthless.

When our old printer was sent to the printer bone-yard, my wife and I searched for a new printer and found this one on Amazon.com. It is dependable printer that suits our needs very well. We don't do a lot of high-volume printing and the one day that my wife did so, the printer quickly ran low on ink. If you do low-volume printing and want a dependable printer that also has copier/scanner features, this is a good printer and well-worth the money spent.
I received this as a gift from my husband last christmas and I must say I love it! I get great photo prints at home!! Ink is cheap and the HP paper is as well! A great alternative to sending pictures on line and waiting for them to come in the mail!
I only ordered this product because I absolutely needed one and did not have a lot of cash at the time. What it does scan shows up nice and clearly, but the bottom inch or so of the scan area doesn't seem to want to scan usually. I end up having to push the paper up over the top and leave an inch of blank space at the bottom so that I actually get the bottom portion of the paper to scan. It didn't do this the first couple times, so I'm not sure what the problem is. However, It was pretty cheap as far as scanners go, and it's thin and lightweight and very simple to use. It should be noted that I only scan assignments for class, all in black and white and not any photos. I'm not sure how well it operates for those conditions.

I printed about 50 4x6 pictures and the cartridges ran low. The cost of new cartridges is just about the same price as buying a new printer. The iP6210D is not worth the money, a poor value.
My first Docupen R700 was defective out of the box. Thank goodness I purchased it from DataVision through Amazon. Planon's tech support was at the ready to help me download all new software, etc. to determine why my scans were severely distorted. They concluded that the product was defective and recommended replacement. Planon's RMA department (a disaster) took 1 1/2 weeks to generate a return number and could only promise a 3-4 week turn around for replacement. The retailer, DataVision, came to my rescue with a new pen and it worked splendily on the first try.
The pen produces adequate scans to help me view historical documents outside of their storage archives. Copies, while not beautiful, are adequate and permit copies without damage to bindings. The scans ... Read More:
I deeply wish I had checked reviews BEFORE I bought this printer. It worked correctly for about four months and over the last year and a half has progressively deteriorated. The ink is too expensive, though you can save through certain recycle programs. The ink is also UNRELYABLE! Some of my photos have yellowed, and faded horribly over the past year; on both HP paper and Kodak paper. I know of no recalls, but somthing is WRONG with HP ink! The printer also slowly stopped feeding paper correctly. Sometimes it took far to many in and jammed, but most of the time it only takes paper when pushed into the rollers 1-by-1. HP cust. serv. said "try cleaning the rollers". Seriously? Do you think I didn't try that before writing? I will NEVER consider another HP printer, no ... Read More:

I bought this printer in 2004 and am still using it now. No problems so far. Mainly use it to print documents and pictures off my memory card or camera. The quality of the pictures are awesome considering that this is only tri-ink printer. It is fast enough for regular document printing applications and adequate enough for high quality photo printing. It can be used as a stand-alone printer to print photos from your memory card, just slide it in and you're good to go. For creative pictures, you need to adjust settings in the printing configuration from your PC. The software is not hard to install, its plug & play. You do however, after installing the software, to auto-set it to download driver updates so you can get the best performance out of your printer. The ... Read More:
