HP ScanJet 8250 Document Scanner

I got this scanner because I wanted the duplex ADF so I could archive a couple shelves worth of documents. Has been working great. I was actually quite impressed with the software and the options available. The searchable PDF for a document form is perfect - It automatically adjusts for landscape documents and inserts them in the PDF appropriately. The majority of typed text is recognized and converted to copy and pastable text which was a huge bonus. I bought mine as a used/off lease machine and haven't seen any downsides to that yet. My only beef is that when using duplex mode it takes 3-4 times longer to do a double sided document vs two single sided documents (but this sure beats having to manually flip the pages)

This is a solid and reliable scanner.

The only drawback is having to download drivers directly from the website to use the device on a Windows Vista machine.

HP Photosmart 385 Compact Photo Printer (Q6387A#ABA)

This is a very good printer for the type it is. I have now seen a Thermal Film Transfer Printer which gives more of a 'developed' look but has lower Picture Quality. Prints from this printer seem to have uneven drying of the ink, which is sometimes distracting if looking at the photo from different angles. This 'problem' is easily corrected by framing the photo or putting it in a book with a gloss sheet over it.

The Kodak cx7000 printer dock is as was advertised by 50 monkeys.It works great, very sharp pictures and fast prints. The order was shipped very fast and was packed very nicely for rough handling,all aspects of the order were very professional. Harold Blen

Epson Stylus C86 Inkjet Printer

I've owned this printer for two years and bought it because of success with prior epson products. I've had nothing but trouble with this printer. It regularly needs nozzle cleaning, which then reduces your available ink, loses alignment and the ink sporadically runs. I've wasted a lot of time and $ on this product between ink and photo paper. Another annoying aspect of this printer is the constant pop-ups and reminders to use epson ink. My epson purchases go back to a word processer in '86. I've had so many problems with this printer, I will never buy epson again. Today I loaded two new epson print cartridges and blue is not working. This hunk of junk is going to the curb!

Canon PIXMA iP1600 Photo Printer (White)

I used thiscards using a kit. It was easy to get the printer tp print on half sheets of paper. Simple printer- simple to use. However, it's not suited for job like this that use a lot of color. I used color just for the text, printed about 200 things and then had to get another cartridge (which is like $25). Not for business printing, you will spend way too much on ink.

This is the worst piece of junk I've ever had. The first printer failed right out of the box. I've had the second one for about 6 months, and it has now failed - some obscure error message about updating the firmware that I can't find a solution for. I don't have time to fiddle with equipment - I need to turn it on and have it work. Never Again!!

Sony DPP-FP30 Digital Photo Printer

Besides the expensive ink and paper (although value packs are available now), this little devil is a charm with a cherry on top!

It is a bit more expensive than other dye-sub printers, but once you try it out you'll realize it's worth it.

One leasson I learned, never go cheap on dye-sub photo printers, they're worth every penny and the DPP-FP30 rules them all.
