I am a beginning scriptwriter and I found the software easy to use, and undestandable - however, it does on occasion crash, so I put my automatic save at 3 minutes. Also, you have to think twice when saving, because the fdr files can only be edited in Final Draft, so you need to make a rich text backup as well. But, let me tell you if you are looking for a way to save time - this is the product you want to get

I've written screen plays many years ago, but this is the first time I've used a software package to write this type of format. I am used to using different software packages, and using Screenwriter was an easy transition.
The manual that comes with it was very useful, but I was able to start writing my movie script almost immediately, which means that the user interface for Screenwriter was user friendly.
I haven't had to use all of its features, but writing and formatting is very easy and its exporting to PDF worked flawlessly.

Though I've never sold a screenplay, I keep writing them, keep trying, and my tool is Final Draft. This is an awesome piece of screenwriting software, perfect for a screenwriter wannabe like me. I have been using it for a long time now. The software formats your screenplay for you in proper format, which is invaluable and it saves you oodles of time. It also comes with several other features that help you write the best screenplay you can. I would highly recommend this to anyone looking to be a screenwriter, or already is one and worries about formatting.

I'm a writer, here's my story. I bought Final Draft mainly because I felt I needed to upgrade from Microsoft Works or get left behind. Well, I've worked with Final Draft for a while, and to be honest I do not think it was worth the $150.00 dollars + postage. It's very hard to format scripts, especially ones that had been saved in other formats - it adds all these extra spaces and it's terribly time consuming to remove them. Also, it sometimes adds in a character heading when one isn't needed and it's very difficult to get rid of those showing up all the time.
I cannot figure out how to use the Tagger part at all. The most disappointing part for me was that it DOES NOT read the scripts back - it does however save your script in a new format that ... Read More:

Although I purchased several study aids, including Kaplan GRE Exam in a Box (which I also recommend), this little software package became my primary study tool.
My test prep was focused on the GRE. When I first installed the software and started poking around, the graphics seemed a little too "cutesy". But then I took the initial diagnostic exam, and was given approximate baseline scores which seemed quite reasonable (given that my high school math is about 30 years in the past, and I had done exactly no preparation).
Once the diagnostic is complete, the program builds a study program for you, which you can work through it at your own pace. That helped a great deal. The lessons brought back lots of old knowledge, and provided some shortcuts ... Read More:

Having been through graduate school collecting copious notes on secondary literature, and collecting stacks and stacks of notes, I've been looking for a product -- and played with several different ones -- that could "collect all my thoughts."

OneNote is the one that comes closest. Now, it affords me the opportunity to collect notes about my customers -- better than a CRM program! -- write down ideas for speeches I want to give or articles I want to write, and help me remember my karate forms.

But, OneNote requires a lot of dedication, especially at the beginning, as you learn the whole tabbed structure for organizing your work.

First of all, everyone should know that this software will NOT write your story for you. Rather, it provides a vast library of different possibilities ("conflict situations") which can be personalized with your character names. This is a great tool for exploring new ideas - for an individual scene - and for an overall theme. It also helps in the discovery of character motivations and nuances. This program is fun to use and is a reliable cure for writer's block.

I've read a lot of good reviews for this program, and it came highly recommended. But I've had so many problems with the software, (I'm PC based), and have had no response from Technical Support, email or otherwise. The links on their site mainly are dead. I am planning to buy the competitor product. Screenwriter has been a frustrating program, and a waste of my money.

Some of the recurring problems:
- Generates roughly a third of the script's breakdown, then stops.
- "Print to PDF" function consistently creates a blank PDF file.

I ordered this pack with reservations because I had tried some others that were not near as good. I was pleasantly surprised with the teaching style and ease of this product. I love using this and studying now is no longer stressful.
