I've been doing genealogy on and off for years, and haven't used FTM for a while. I've been rebuilding my family history [...] and decided it was time to get desktop software, and decided to get FTM 2009 because I figured it would make things easier to switch back and forth. Now, I've been using computers since I was a child, and am quite comfortable with them, but I am having a terrible time navigating around this software. It does not recognize sources that I linked to people in Ancestry, and keeps giving me hints for these sources. I am having to go in, person by person, and ignore all these hints so I don't have the little leaf on every single person. The help files have not been useful, and the email I sent has yet to be answered. I am ... Read More:

I consider myself pretty techie but this software is hard to use. I see a recipe I'd like to add to my menu plan and I have to go out of the cookbook and back into the menu plan and add it. I'm not expecting drag and drop (although how cool would that be?) but tedious to build a plan. Then menu plan vs. meal plan and confusing term swaps. It also wants to add ingredients in it's own way--making me tab through to add things the way I want (cheese in ounces vs. slices). Maybe I didn't study it enough but I've just been very challenged in using it so far. I'm sticking with my pencil and paper and xerox copies of recipes I like!

This is the most creative upgrade to Family Tree Maker, well, ever. Functionality is greatly improved, graphics, instant "hints", reporting, "uploadability" and much more. The downsides are only a few: 1) freezes more than it should; 2) double dates (1711/1712, etc) not only don't apear automatically, they can't even be inserted manually; 3) takes a bit more self trainning to find everything you're accustomed to using. The optional trainig manual "The Official Guide to Family Tree Maker 2009" is a must. Genealogy Networks has been helpful so far when I've gotten completely stuck on a few issues. Get their phone number and call.....I really don't find the self help guides very 'self-helping'! All in all, it's worth the time and effort ... Read More:

I have been on a lifelong search through comic stores across the country for Star Trek comic books. Never to purchase, as that would burn a decent hole into my already empty pocket, but simply to glance through the pages and read the stories in a manner so much more different than what I was used to. Comics are fun to read, and they offer a unique vision of a story and its characters. Imagine my surprise when I learned there was a compilation DVD in the works for the Star Trek comic series!
I have glanced through a good chunk of the comics included in this set, and am pleased as punch to see these stories again. Some of my favorites included the Mirror Universe Saga, the Tabukan Syndrome, the parallel universe Borg invasion, and of course Peter ... Read More:

Absolutely MAD Magazine - 50+ Years
This was an excellent buy! I am thoroughly enjoying this product and
would recommend it to any MAD fan! It's good to catch up and to see
the old magazines I remember reading as a child. It was fun to go
back down memory lane. Thanks MAD!

software of this scope and customer base should be first and foremost user friendly. I used other CAD software before. i believe the developer should hire someone that would actually try to make this intuitive. This program is supposedly designed for a regular Smith to buy and help design his home and garden. It does not work that way.
Every little task requires a trip thru a whole lot of menus and sub-menus. It does not have to be that way. I struggled with the even most basic features - set up the size of your yard is a total pain.
This is a good software with the worse user interface I have ever seen. It has a feel of being designed in early nineties, not in 2008.
I should add that the plan selection for garden design ... Read More:

I've written screen plays many years ago, but this is the first time I've used a software package to write this type of format. I am used to using different software packages, and using Screenwriter was an easy transition.
The manual that comes with it was very useful, but I was able to start writing my movie script almost immediately, which means that the user interface for Screenwriter was user friendly.
I haven't had to use all of its features, but writing and formatting is very easy and its exporting to PDF worked flawlessly.

I understand that everyone has the right to freedom of speech, but what about common human decency? I'm a fan of morbid humour, but when you are making fun of killing an innocent creature, I think it has gone too far. Would NP have released this cover if the gun were being held to the head of a baby or a racial minority? I'm not talking about politically correct humour. I am merely saying that it is unfortunate that NP has not only included this front cover image, but the back cover clearly indicates that the threat has been carried out. It's not about being tasteful. It's about actually crossing a line into cruelty. So, this product sucks and it insults the intelligence and the level of humor of NP fans.

I grew up with Spiderman....on TV as TV movies and cartoons...but I always thought that there was more to it than that.
Getting this box set makes the world of Spiderman come alive. I completely missed out on the original stories of Gobbie, Doc Oc, Venom, Carnage....all that....but no longer. I like seeing where the world starts and comes all the way through 2006.
I also have the Iron Man DVD and will most likely pick up the Incredible Hulk and possibly the Avengers set as well.
I've liked X-Men, so that might be a future purchase as well.
I've used several cookbook programs. Now Your Cooking which also has great support, Big Oven and Master Cook. When I found LCOOKBOOK 205 they all went in the trash heap. LCOOKBOOK 208 is even better. I think your program and support is head and shoulders above any of the others I've tried.
