Disk took 2 weeks to arrive, it was cracked (sent in paper envelope with no protection) and had "NOT FOR RESALE" stamped on its front. I attempted numerous times to contact the seller to no avail.
After learning some HTML on my own, and struggling to set up my first Web page, I came to appreciate FrontPage 98. Later, I upgraded to FrontPage 2002. Microsoft had a winner in this affordable, easy-to-use Web page design tool.
I use it exlusively to do all of my Web site design these days. It has a few quirks, and is not always as intuitive as I think that it should be, but, hey--it sure beats doing markup manually!
This program is easy to use. The online forums are great. It's all you'll need for a basic, nice looking site. And it is a great value compared to Dreamweaver.

I've been building web pages using Frontpage since its first release. I've upgraded all the way through 2003. I thought upgrading to Expression was a good idea, but it has been nothing but frustrating.
I'm not a novice. I work in Photoshop to build my own graphics for all my websites - personal and professional - never used a template in Frontpage. I built everything from the ground up, and I found Expression to be an exercise in tooth gnashing. Nothing works the way it should.
The help files are useless, and unless you want to pay for video tutoring on line you're left in the cold. I've bought two books, and neither was much help either. If I tried to build anything more complex than a basic html page, it failed. The CSS wouldn't ... Read More:

The main programs I use are Iphoto and Itunes. Since Itunes is free (and if you have an Ipod, you have no choice), I'll concern myself with Iphoto and not rate the other programs in the suite. I have not upgraded to Ilife 08, nor do I have any plans to.
Although Iphoto is not free, a lot of programs rely on it (such as ComicLife) so not using Iphoto is almost not a choice.
First of all, if you have a substantial photo collection (mine is over 40,000 images), you need to have memory. I found that Iphoto was very slow until I put 2gb into my Mac Mini (which is the most mine will take). Now it's just a little slow. Second, Iphoto is VERY picky about your photo collection. Once you've "imported" your photos, Iphoto doesn't like you to ... Read More:

I purchase this after using Frontpage 2003 for what seems forever! I've gotten good use out of FP, and it has more than paid for itself. But I'm just not sure what to make of Expression Web. I installed it, tried out some of the learning tools, but it just didn't click. I currently use a program that costs me 1/3 the price and has all the features of Expression Web. I also continue to use FP for basic stuff, especially when I need straight HTML programming.
I've gone to MS website and read some of the tutorials, checked out their forum, etc. But it seems as if MS wants me to buy all these add-on's (like Adobe does) to get the program to do what it should already do. Personally, I think I wasted my money on this, and sorry I purchased it.

Adobe Flex Builder is a pay for plugin for the Eclipse IDE for developing Flex based UIs. The problem with this is that Flex is a subset of Flash, and a very small subset at that. Flex out of the box does not give anywhere near the range of features and controls that are available in Flash and seems to be quite immature. This product does not work with the latest verion of Eclipse at all, and I had great difficulty integrating it with a pre-existing installation of Eclipse on my mac. It has also appeared to disable several Eclipse function for me to do with source code reformatting.
