Acronis True Image Home 2009

(I've adapted this review from an earlier discussion post because those posts don't affect the product's star ratings.)

I've been looking for a drive imaging program for protection in case my HD fails at some point. I'd tried ShadowProtect, but it wouldn't run, and the publisher's tech service people were unable to find the cause. So now I've done a complete image backup with True Image 2009 to an external hard drive, and I've restored individual files from the backup without any problems. I'll also mention that this program was very easy to use, and the user manual is clear.

Acronis True Image 11 Home [OLD VERSION]

Bought this with the sole intention of cloning a failing hard drive with a larger one. Figured this would save me hours of work installing and transferring programs. Well, I installed it with no problems and ran the Clone program. It did everything it was supposed to do in the order shown in the instructions. The program is slightly lacking in instructional material but workable. When it was done, nothing had been written to the new drive. Tried several more variations, still with no joy. Now I end up spending hours/days researching and reading FAQ's and reviews to find any answers to my questions. After many hours of reading reviews I finally found a ray of hope and tried again. Acronis Disk Director Suite 10.0

Upon reading the countless negative reviews i figured i would toss in my 2 cents. This program works remarkably well for what it has to deal with not to mention it works ten times better than the acclaimed partition magic. If people are upset that their main partition is messed up when they start screwing with it they shouldn't be using this software in the first place. There are hundreds of thousands of different software and hardware combination's that can cause foul ups when working with partitions, master boot record entries and the like. Always test something like this with a secondary hard or move all your important data to a backup before attempting anything. Acronis True Image 9.0

I have spent too much money and time trying out all kinds of backup software that fails in one way or another. My OS is Windows 2000, which does not have System Restore. Therefore, a functioning backup program is critical to me.

The problem with other software is that they produce a list of error messages stating that various files could not be backed up. What good is that? I don't have that problem with Acronis True Image 9.0.

Other restore programs attempt to overwrite the backed-up files on top of the existing files, creating a bad mix of the files you want with the files you don't want. Acronis solves this problem by totally wiping your hard drive during a full restore, and then reinstalling all of your backed-up files on a clean drive. ... Read More:

Acronis True Image Backup 9.0 [OLD VERSION]

This older version of Acronis works well with WIN 9X and 2000 as well as XP. The newer version doesn't work with 9X. This is one more instance of a product that won't work with older OS versions. What's the point of buying a new version if I see no need to upgrade my OS?

Acronis True Image 6.0

I have used all the versions of True Image and have upgraded to 11. The program has saved my skin several times over. The backups are fast and, most important, reliable. It is also just handy to restore hard drive to a pristine condition. After the internet spys have invaded just re-image the drive...Presto no virus or spys. I keep one drive for internet and another drive (In a removable drawer) for safer banking. With acronis drives can be easly cloned.

I have used all versions of Acronis True Image except 11.0. This version has full functionality and is at a good price. Mirror partitions or disks, back up computer settings or back up data. Boot and restore even if windows is not working or from a boot disk. This program is somewhat difficult to learn but is a life saver.

Acronis True Image 8.0 - Complete PC Backup Solution

While looking for a utility to help me do better backups, the name "Acronis" kept popping up. I ended up getting version 8.0 because it had won so many awards. Maybe I should have gotten the newest version, but I am very satisfied with version 8.0.

Acronis MigrateEasy 6.0

I purchased the software and tried to do the upgrade but it didn't work. When I reached the final screen that has the button "proceed" which must be clicked. This button was shaded so clicking on it does not work. I contacted the company "Acronis" by email and they said that I bought a "demo" copy and that is why the "proceed" button was shaded. My only interpretation is that shoppers will pay full price for a demo software that doesn't work instead of an official one. If you cannot buy the official copy on Amazon then where in the world will you be able to buy it? Is there an official copy anyway?

Save your money and sanity, look for other packages. I intend to return the software and explain what happened to Amazon customer support.
