I like the Leopard, and I have shared it with family members who also have a MAC. They agree that it is easy to use. The only thing I had to do...that I'm aware of ... is update RealPlayer. But that was very easy. This has some interesting ways of reminding me of things, and there are still some things I can't find. But I'm a slow learner, and I have to get with my "tutor" to be able to upgrade my brain. But so far, I have not found anything I don't like about it.

When OS 10.4 was released much was expected by the consumer and OS 10.4 delivered. Not that it was the perfect release as it was followed up with upgrades but the first release was solid. Stable and easy to use, after installation I found no problems on my mac. And even more so enjoyed the new features that it offers. 10.4 is the final version that can be run on most G3 macs. It will be in demand as consumers look to upgrade their G3s. Many chose not to upgrade when it was released but for different reasons want to move up now. It's solid, dependable and can be upgraded to 10.4.11 for free from Apple's web site.

I have not had a great deal of time to delve into this application, but I can already tell that it has some major advantages over the earlier version. Most notably, the ability to keyframe effects is a huge advancement and helps propel this software well into the realm of professional video production. I'd also like to mention that the product came with a very interesting and helpful video tutorial of the typical FCE workflow - nice!
All in all, I would recommend this product to anyone who currently uses the 3.0 release and wants to get additional bang for their buck. If you can find a good deal - like I did - on this update, then grab it up quick! It's not Final Cut Pro, of course, but it's a big step in that direction.

I am holding onto my G4 Mac. Don't need a G5 to change my whole life and cause me to upgrade thousands of dollars worth of software applications just to conform to the new OS for the G5. Everything seems to work fine right now, so why would I need to change anything? Tiger OS System takes care of everything for me and after 25 years of computers, I don't need to upgrade to something that has to have all the bugs worked out for the next 2 years. I think Apple is more concerned about iPods than making a better Macintosh. I visited an Apple store in Ft. Lauderdale and could not get help with information about the new G5 computer. They just tried to sell me an iPod. The iPod is the last thing I will need on this earth.

I was all excited and ready to make DVDs of my grandkids..... guess what ? This iLife 05' on CD ROM does not include the iDVD program as they advertise. What a rip off. Now i am returning it to AMAZON.COM and i have now ordered the ilife 06' application on DVD, straight from Apple which does include the iDVD program.

The main programs I use are Iphoto and Itunes. Since Itunes is free (and if you have an Ipod, you have no choice), I'll concern myself with Iphoto and not rate the other programs in the suite. I have not upgraded to Ilife 08, nor do I have any plans to.
Although Iphoto is not free, a lot of programs rely on it (such as ComicLife) so not using Iphoto is almost not a choice.
First of all, if you have a substantial photo collection (mine is over 40,000 images), you need to have memory. I found that Iphoto was very slow until I put 2gb into my Mac Mini (which is the most mine will take). Now it's just a little slow. Second, Iphoto is VERY picky about your photo collection. Once you've "imported" your photos, Iphoto doesn't like you to touch ... Read More:
