Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing 15

The Mavis Beacon Teaches Typing program is a user-friendly tool for each of my children, ages 9, 11 and 13. They eagerly work through the lessons and are progressing weekly, each at their own pace. I even enjoy going through the exercises to refresh my skills. We are a home-school family and this program is great for us. I highly recommend it for beginning and seasoned typists.

Scooby Doo Glowing Bug Man (Jewel Case)

I purchased this game for my in home day care children. The preschoolers love Scooby Do so I wanted to give them some computer time and fun. They were extremely excited to see I had a Scooby Do game. As they began playing it they lost interest quite quickly. It was not easy, challenging nor fun. It seems a bit more for older age children yet too repetitious to hold interest. Was not happy with this purchase.

I thought I was getting a super bargain on some older software. No. Whatever company is making this has just taken the brand name. I was looking forward to replacing a program I had used in the past. This was completely different. The menus and tools don't make any sense. I can't drag walls to where I want them to be; everything ends up with crazy angles. Cheap software made for a quick buck. No effort of any kind went into making this product. I'm just going to throw it away. Would not burden anone with such a useless "gift".

Middle School Advantage 2009

I'm not sure why the other reviewer had problems loading this set onto their computer. I loaded the set fine with absolutely no problems. Since this version is the 2009, I'm not sure how the other reviewer could possibly have purchased it two years ago, but maybe I misread what was written.

Anyway, this set is wonderful! It is a great accompaniment to formal instruction and a fun way for kids to learn. The language portion is worth the price in and of itself. Similiar to Rosetta Stone except without the pictures and a lot less costly. A wide variety of subjects are covered and the iPOD materials that are downloadable are a wonderful addition.
