Microsoft Streets and Trips 2007 [DVD]

I've bought upgrades for MS Streets & Trips faithfully. No longer. It is losing functionality instead of getting better. For example, in the 2004 release you could actually read the speed, altitude, information. In the 2007 version, you have to read print this size while trying to drive down the road. And the GPS panel takes up a huge part of the screen. 2004 was definitely superior. Now, why would a programmer do this? One would think they'd want to make it easier to use, not less.

Microsoft Digital Image Standard 2006

This product is fun and easy to use for people with basic editing needs. It's made by Microsoft, so it's compatible and stable on Windows. You can achieve great looking photos using this software. It doesn't have absurd system requirements like some software companies out there. Unfortunately this is one of the last Digital Image products that Microsoft made. Better grab one while it's here. I highly recommend this product.

Microsoft Office Ultimate 2007 UPGRADE [DVD]

The new ribbon design is supposed to make it easier to learn and use. It may be for some new users but for experienced users, it isn't. This version takes away some critical nuts & bolts customization features and many tasks now take longer to perform. This is not due to the learning curve, it is the inherent nature of the way the ribbon works. Once you are familiar with the program, nothing is faster than the old menu structure. If Microsoft added an option to allow users to choose between menus and ribbons, it would be the best of both worlds, satisfying the needs of both new and experienced users. Microsoft Windows Home Server OEM

I decided to switch from using a regular desktop with shared folders to a server because of the backup functions. I knew there were some plugins out there, but now I am blown away by the number of functions I can do.

I am planning to build a house soon, and now I am actually considering a fully automated lighting/ac/electrical system run through Windows Home Server. If my wife forgets to turn off her curling iron ever again, I'll be able to log in and shut down the bathroom power!

Consider me a HUGE fan of Windows Home Server.

I ordered this so my son could use it for school, but he can't make it interface with the powerpoint 3 at school, so he's not using it. So, really can't give it an accurate review.

Microsoft Expression Web Upgrade from FrontPage [OLD VERSION]

This version of Expression is ok. I was expecting a much more rounded and intuitive product from Microsoft. It is still light years behind Dreamweaver. Not too many new features for my personal use. If you have the last version of Front Page don't waste the money on this product. Wait until Microsoft makes some real changes in the software before upgrading.

This version of Expression is ok. I was expecting a much more rounded and intuitive product from Microsoft. It is still light years behind Dreamweaver. Not too many new features for my personal use. I use the software for work related business data mapping. It's easy to use. It's not a huge upgrade over the previous version.
