Good product for constructing/designing flowcharts. As with all Microsoft programs it could be more user friendly. Lacks a true password protection for files...anyone can remove the protection.

I had older versions and used them on several of MY computers. This version installed on both my laptop (great for travel) and desktop, but when my laptop crashed and I bought a new one, I was not allowed to install a 3rd time. I called tech support and was told I should use all lower case for the key code even when the key code is shown in caps and installed properly the first time using caps. I asked for a supervisor who then told me I was allowed only ONE installation!!!
What idiots!! Although I really like Streets and Trips I will no longer upgrade. I have a Garmin and a Dash, so it is not a big issue for me (except that I wasted my money).

I'm a huge XP fan (well, XP Pro). I love Linux - especially the Fedora and Ubuntu flavors. Can't say much for Macs (because I haven't goofed around on one since the Classic days - but the commercials make me want to chew my own fist off)... And now we have Vista.
I waited until now to finally get the Vista upgrade and check it out for myself. I was hesitant to do so sooner because of the overwhelmingly negative or just plain unenthusiastic response to it. Fortunately, I found a way to keep my existing XP Pro operating system, and just install Vista from the upgrade disc on a separate partition, thus mitigating the risk of plunging in headfirst.
I noticed a few hiccups from the start - like the fact that AVG 8.0 ... Read More:
I was a bit disappointed with this version of Money - my older version (2002) on my old XP computer was so much easier to use than this one. When setting up my bills I noticed that this new version for my Vista machine wont allow me to select anything besides "check" as form of payment if I dont have my banking set up through Money. Well, my bank is a small local bank and I can download daily if I want to but it will not ALLOW on-line interface with Money, so now I can't set my bills up the way I had in my old Money. Also, I did try to set up and import My-Checkfree accounts thinking that would solve the "on-line" issues (which it will take existing customers) but for whatever reason it wont accept MY existing customer login and password to My-checkfree. ... Windows Vista Basic is worth purchasing for only a few reasons.
1) It is inevitable that at some point (though certainly not now), Windows will stop creating service packs for Windows XP.
2) Regardless of Vista's RAM-consuming ways, companies have shifted and will continue to shift away from creating software compatible with Windows XP towards software compatible with Windows Vista.
3) Vista Basic is, by far, the least RAM-consuming Vista product available. You might be able to run it without using half of your RAM idling. If you want a more advanced Vista, make sure you have a gigabyte or two of RAM to spare to actually do anything.
Anyways, if you use your computer for internet and simple Word/Excel/PowerPoint documents, don't bother ... Read More:

I was skeptical at first about upgrading to Vista from XP but now I'm confident with Vista+SP1's reliability, security, interface, and added automation of more complex tasks in Windows. I recommend it.

I have Microsoft Office 2000 and was in the process of buying/upgrading to Microsoft Office XP, until I noticed that I would have to buy 4 different programs for my family's 4 separate computers.
My wife has her own computer, my daughter has her own computer I have mine, and we have a laptop we all use collectively when we travel.
So with Microsoft's new licensing policy it would cost me a small fortune to keep those in my family using the XP version.
On top of that... we tend to stay on the cutting edge of the latest hardware available, (I build and upgrade my own systems), so I would be susceptible to going to Microsoft with my hat in hand explaining why I need clearance to reinstall THEIR program again on my computer.

I am supposed to use this product to update the web pages monthly for a non-profit organization. After exploring the menus and the manual, I still don't know how and where to start. I usually can figure out in a short time how to use new software however complicated, such as QuarkExpress, InDesign, PageMaker, FrameMaker, Illustrator, Dream Weaver, Front Page, etc., by exploring the menus and the samples with the help of its manual.
