I'm dictating this review with my Dragon 10 software. It's incredible stuff. I just purchased it and installed it and was up and going in 10 minutes without any problem whatsoever and I use Vista as my operating system. I simply do not understand the complaints that I have seen about any of the installation processes. I do think registration is a little bit of a pain in the neck but it's a minor issue. The training took me 10 to 15 minutes and it's pretty much 98% accurate. I will use this all the time.

wow I have only had this product for a day and a half. And I am very very impressed with it. The installation of the product(dragon) only took about 10 minutes to install. The voice recognition took about another 10 to fully understand my voice patterns. Actually it started understanding my voice within the first 1 to 2 seconds. I already sent out a ton of e-mails to friends and family. Telling them about this product. All of them are super impressed that for the most part I never even have to touch the keyboard. Most of them have seen my previous e-mails and no that I'm not the greatest typer in the world and misspell words quite a bit. They are impressed of how accurate this software is. For a person like me with a reading disability. This product ... Read More:

Product shipped quickly to the UK, but Microidea hadn't made any arrangements for paying VAT, so I was hit with a bill for £25 covering VAT and a special courier charge as well. To their credit, though, when I wrote to complain, they refunded me the £25.
Then, when I tried to install the product, one of the files was corrupted, although that was (presumably) the fault of Dragon, not Microidea, and Dragon sorted it out quickly enough.

I had Dragon's Naturally 7 and I thought it was a pretty good product. When I got a new computer I upgraded to 9 - and what a mess its been. I'm going to do a bad thing and write a review before I've even used the product. I accept that it will basically do what its supposed to do - its getting it to start that is the problem. The program is activated but the microphone will not turn on - so the product is useless at the moment.
Their support system is atrocious; since I bought it several months ago I'm out of my 'free call' period. Not only will it cost me $20 to talk to someone about it it'll cost me $10 just to e-mail. There's absolutely nothing on their FAQ's about the program being unwilling to even turn on. An attempt to join their community ... Read More:

Try and regester this product is an impossibility. The questions asked of you are not only personal but intrusive. Your reward for opting out of the process on page 8 is to be gifted with a product that produces immages with "Trial Version" posted diagonally over every page.
No one to talk to no help at all. I just purchased Adobe Professional and now the job is done properly with no intrusion into my personal life.
Listen to the one star people here...and save yourself some time and money.

I finally received by new Dragon 10 and the Bluetooth bundled ear piece. It took a long time as nuance did not send me any kind of tracking number so I missed the shipment. However, it was well worth the wait. I have to admit I've only had this for a few days so I have not experienced the failure of the USB inset the previous viewer has, perhaps I will over time. However, I was thrilled to see how well Bluetooth worked since I was never able to get it to work very well with version 9. Even more impressive, instead of running this on a quad core processor like I did on version 9 I am running this on an Acer netbook with the Atom processor and it works flawlessly, I am very satisfied so far. I wish that I could buy plantronics Bluetooth earpiece separately so that I would ... Read More:

I bought a new computer with XP 64-bit on it to be able to load it up with memory for NaturallySpeaking to use since I was a V9 user and was quite happy with the product on XP 32-bit. After spending over $2000 for the computer and $99 for the upgrade, I found out that DNS 10 will not even install on a 64-bit computer! What??? The one application that can make full use of a fast machine with fast drives and lots of memory (and the "lots of memory" requires a 64-bit machine!) doesn't run on 64-bit? You're kidding, right???

I would have given 0 stars if possible. I'm sure it it is just as arrogant (if software can be arrogant--or its makers are) as 15. I bought Omnipage 15 to scan pages and had a lot of problems, so I uninstalled it. Unfortunately the program seems to have taken over my scanner and every picture I scan now is unreadable. A popup tries to reinstall Omnipage and won't let me open the picture files any other way. So all my scanned pictures are unusable. A company spokesperson said I could get technical help unintalling. Yet when I call the number he provided, a machine tells me I need to pay $19.95 per minute! Then puts me on hold!
I've used Paperport for a couple of versions on two different computers, and I'm fairly happy with my results.
The biggest problem I have had with Scansoft/Nuance products is in setting up the older versions and in registering/authenticating the newer versions. At my home we are currently using Paperport 10 and 11, Omnipage 15 and Omnipage Pro 16, Iris and Dragon -- the voice to type program, so we have had some experience with setting up Nuance products.
Paperport 10 was particularly hard to get going on our XP machine, but eventually, after a little help from the tech support, we did get it set up. Paperport 11 handled the setup well on our Vista machine with no problems.
Paperport integrates well with the Omnipage OCR programs, and scanning and text ... Read More:
