I don't know if I wasn't paying attention, or was just not informed. But this program doesn't work with macs even though it was used on the old apple2GS which is just a super old version of a mac. Don't get this if you have a mac!

Zoombinis Logical Journey

My 8-year-old daughter loves this. And I like it, too, because it is teaching her some logical reasoning in an entertaining setting.

I give it 4 stars instead of 5 because of two small flaws:
- you can't stop the game and save it at each level, you have
to get through a few. This makes it harder to have her stop
when it is time to go to bed / go to school / etc. For the parent's
sake, please make games easy to save at any point.
- getting all the zombini's forward is a bit repetitive. On the plus
side, though, this does make sure she really learns the lessons and
becomes adept at solving the logical puzzles.

Nice game!

Reader Rabbit Math Adventure Ages 6-9 (Jewel Case)

My boys really enjoy this math game, however it seems pretty simple and they were able to finish the game relatively quickly. I think it is a good buy.

Reader Rabbit I Can Read With Phonics 1st and 2nd Grade

My child is having issues with phonics. We ordered this game in the hopes to give him a love for language and phonics. It worked. He is performing better on his phonics and language tests-he is now passing them. He enjoys reading, and he is actually writing stories. This has been a good purchase and the former reviews are correct.

Reader Rabbit Learn to Read with Phonics! Preschool - Kindergarten

I purchased this software because my kid's daycare uses Reader Rabbit. I picked this version since it was preschool to K & I've got a 3yr old & a 5yr old & I wanted something (for my first purchase of software) that they could both use. It's a two disk set with one for the preschool & the other is K. The preschool has less "story" to it; it has more games, songs, & a zillion printable activities (we haven't done them since the kids computer isn't hooked up to a printer-- another thing they might break). Some games are matching letters or shapes, while harder games have the child pick the right word for the sentence (if you move your mouse over words, etc, the sentence/word is read for the child). Kid Pix Deluxe 3

I was also unable to get Kid Pix 3 to work on XP. After searching the internet, we found a way that was supposed to make it compatible. We followed every direction to make this thing work. It did end up finally loading, but then it would crash. Finally we found a tech support number. First we were told that there was only support on the web for KP3, but the website directs us back to call for support. We were bounced us back and forth and back and forth to different departments. NO ONE wanted to take responsibility to help us (Broderbund is notorious for this). They only gave tech support if we had Kid Pix 4! What a runaround!!!

Reader Rabbit Reading Ages 4-6

Reader Rabbit has been around for a long time and it is a truly wonderful system to help children improve their reading skills. What could be better than playing a game while you learn? I used it when my children were growing up and now I'm providing Reader Rabbit for my granddaughter to help her retain and improve her reading skills over the summer. It is a win-win situation for the parent and the child. The game is plug and play so your child can play without your assistance.

Reader Rabbit Learn to Read With Phonics

I tried 3-4 Reader Rabbit Programs. They are hard to use. The navigation is not good. It takes significant learning effort to get used to the programs. I work in Software from 10 years. If its difficult to navigate for me, the kids definitely will not be able to navigate freely. It will not allow you to skip something. If the kids are using the same thing again and again and They want to skip the things they are bored of they are out of luck. It will not allow skip. Apart from that the program is educational. Another negative: The program does not install on computer. Every time you need to put the CD in to run the program.

Instead of struggling with Reader Rabbit, I would highly recommend the Leapfrog Letter Factory and Math Circus. In ... Read More:

Arthurs Computer Adventure Ages 3-7

I'm a reading educator and highly recommend this product as a natural, enjoyable way to enter the realm of reading. Before you know it, your child will be picking out words, that is, learning vocabulary. Forget the phonics books! USE REAL READING EXPERIENCES LIKE THIS ONE.
