This is an excellent way to computerize a retail store. I wish there were a few more features available to basic. I'd like to be able to edit the bar code stickers, but that feature is only available when you spend more money. I don't need the other higher end features..so I'll just make due with what I've got.

Microsoft Money 99 Basic

I used to own this version of Money and recently upgraded to Money 2003. I have since gone back to the 99 version. Firstly, the 99 version has many planning tools on it, such as a budget planner, many different calculators, such as a rent vs. buy calculator to see if you are ready to buy a home, a savings planner, interest calculators, and many more comprehensive calculators and planners that are easy to use and helpful. When I started using Microsoft Money 2003 Standard, I was very dissapointed to find that there are absolutely no calculators or planners on it besides a budget planner. If you want a good chance to get frustrated, lose some money, well, buy a product from Avanquest. Just try to get customer service help..., or keep e-mailing them over and over again. I spent 3 hrs on the phone once. Never received my money back. Caveat Emptor with Avanquest!

Quicken Rental Property Manager 2.0 [Old Version]

Quicken is a decent small number of rentals manager with helpful tax data presentation. The problem is that they are not friendly to previous purchasers. Anyone who buys this software should be prepared to pay full price for any upgrades. Most software I buy does offer a discount to upgrade to previous owners. I would be happy to pay a reasonable upgrade fee.

I always use Turbotax. It's so straight forward, they listen to users over the year and improve it constantly. Wish it would stop hounding me to buy other addons...that is why I got this version, to avoid all the extras I don't want. So stop trying to sell me!

The product overall is very thorough and extensive. There are however, a number of bugs that need to be worked out. Microsoft has been very responsive and sensitive to all of our concerns except one call to India. Overall, I would rate the product a 3 or 4 out of five. Only because there are too many bugs. There is also a minimal amount of training available to learn how to use the program.
