I have used QuickBooks since 1995 and find that people who are writing negative comments aren't really talking about the product BUT rather how phenomenally cheap they are.
Professionals need to be reminded that the alternative to this is telling our clients that to pay over $200-$600 per module !!! and there are ANNUAL upgrades with certain modules (like payroll)..

If a software company is not upgrading payroll on a regular basis, we (as accounting professionals) DO NOT belong using that particular software OR advising our clients to use it.

We have owned this product in Versions 7 and 9 for our law office for several years. If you need for more than one user to access the program simultaneously, as we do in the office, the program networks seamlessly. You could pay a fortune for a multi-user calendar like this from other vendors. If you have more than two users needing access, you can buy a license. I have seen many complaints in these reviews about technical support; I have e-mailed a couple of times and received a thorough response within 24 hours. The interface for the calendar and address book is easy to use. I highly recommend the program because of features, ease of use, and price.

I purchased Quickbooks Premier based on the fact that it is advertised to synchronize with the Quick shopping cart application from GoDaddy, with whom Quicken has partnered. I have a Quicken merchant account (applied for and paid for through GoDaddy). When attempting to download invoices from the Quick shopping cart into Quickbooks, I received an error message. I attempted to input the merchant account ID into Quickbooks to correct the error, but there is no way to do so. Upon calling Quicken for support, it turns out that I must also pay them a monthly fee to be able to import invoices into Quickbooks from Quick shopping cart. At no point was this disclosed by either Quickbooks or GoDaddy. Save yourself the funds and don't bother. I'd be better ... Read More:

I previously used quickbooks, untill the euro came, and quickbooks had no answer for me. I don't like also software asking for money after a buy already . Disappointed is the good word that i like to include this software after several years good cooperation still. Few interactions in customer- info findings, item deviding, and not easy mastering sorry intuit you lost a thankfull customer years to go maybe with some cooperation Dr Jansen Veterinary surgeon Belgium

I've been using this software since it was new. Intuit stopped supporting it about 2 years ago. You can't get investment price updates off the net anymore.

I got Quicken and I thought it would be horrendous trying to keep up with all the data entry. I thought, boy would it be easier if I could sync with my palm pilot (which goes with me everywhere, to every store, and to every cash register). When I looked, sure enough, some genius had thought of the same thing before I did. The software incorporates a similar format to the PC version, so entries require as few stylus strokes as possible.

I am a dentist, and there is a principle in dentistry that applies here: the easier something is to use, the more it will get used and the more effective it will be. This software makes Quicken practical because you can enter it at the point of sale and be DONE with it. No harboring receipts, no pile ups of entries to be made. All ... Read More:

I've been using Quicken since the late 80's and was always a big fan of Intuit's products until this version. While the program offers all the essentials that other programs like Peachtree offer it is constantly trying to up sell you to other Quicken (Intuit) products and services.

A major drawback to this program is how it prints invoices and statements. If you want to send your customer a nice PDF of your statement or invoice too bad you can't. If you want to send it via e-mail it has to be processed through Quicken which strips out your logo (if you've added it) and you can only send it as an HTML or TXT version then it launches your default e-mail program. I have used this product for 3 years now and it has been great for me. I just need simple accounting software. Today I have found a major problem. I want to print a profit and Loss statement for this year, 2007. For some reason in reports it won't change the year to the current one and won't let you do it either. What do I do? Buy the new version or change software? I'm frustrated with this software right now.
