I had paid for and downloaded this game many years back "Hoyle Classic Board & Card Games" but found I lost it when getting a new PC. I looked for it with no success. I was so happy when I stumbled upon this at Fryes Electronics, I could not wait to get on Amazon or half.com to price it. I got the game and I was so happy to see many of the same characters and the same formats. I was disappointed that there was no card games included, but overall, I'm very pleased!!

I picked this up because I heard it kept with the basic FPS controls and didn't try to reinvent the genre. YES, it keeps the controls simple and straight forward.
New stuff:
There's a target system when you are in close combat which was easy to pick up even though there was no tutorial. There will be a crosshair on the enemy and you have to move your crosshair to match his and click (or shoot). You will then counter his move or make your strike.
Weapons: You have 2 weapons slots. One for a large calibre weapon and one for a sidearm. It doesn't tell you that you can carry 2 sidearms and by pressing "2" a second time, you can use the alt pistol you picked up along the way.
My husband is a "hunt and peck" typer. One of our computer desks is in our bedroom. My husband always had to have a light on when I was trying to sleep when he was on the computer working, so he could see what he was typing. I bought him this Saitek keyboard for Christmas last year (2007). Our entire family, including children love this keyboard and it is used several hours a day. The only issue I have is, after ten months the paint is wearing off of the frequently used keys. It's not a problem for me, but the "hunt and peck" typers I live with will eventually have a problem. It's still a good keyboard and I may try to put permanent marker letters on the keys eventually and see how that works. Overall a good product. Even if I have to purchase ... Read More:

The Holy Grail of combat flight sims. You can configure the game for anything from arcade shootem up to full on realism with complex engine management, blackouts, headshake, etc... Each plane modelled flies like the real thing with variants within a paticular model displaying different flight characteristics. Fanatical attention to historic detail, they release patches just to change the style of lettering on a guage or the color fo its needle if they didn't get it right the first time. BUY THIS SIM and check out mission4today.com for hundreds of free additional missions, campaigns, and skins. Perfect for gamers and historians alike.

This will be short...but not sweet. This company made a huge effort to create a beautiful game and I think in a large degree they succeeded. But they made a major mistake for the US market. And for the UK and the Germany markets too. They elected to censor their own creation. They cut from the US version and the UK versions aspects of the game that are natural, normal and healthy but in the bizare modern US morality market, we are allowed to see unlimited blood, violence, gore and profanity but not the human form. In the German version they cut the "violence" but left the human aspect untouched. These are decisions the buyer has the right to make for themselves. They also did not think we read in the USA so we do NOT get a printed manual. And they do not disclose this ... Read More:
I was also unable to get Kid Pix 3 to work on XP. After searching the internet, we found a way that was supposed to make it compatible. We followed every direction to make this thing work. It did end up finally loading, but then it would crash. Finally we found a tech support number. First we were told that there was only support on the web for KP3, but the website directs us back to call for support. We were bounced us back and forth and back and forth to different departments. NO ONE wanted to take responsibility to help us (Broderbund is notorious for this). They only gave tech support if we had Kid Pix 4! What a runaround!!!
FINALLY we talked to someone who found information in their system that said that KP3 isn't compatible for Windows XP. Well then, should ... Read More:

This program is a great way to learn a language. The method of using pictures with the text helps you make associations and learn much faster, easier and more fun than just memorizing words. You do need to be self motivated but I found myself looking forward to the lessons. The program will automatically recommend to repeat a lesson if you make too many errors. I love that you can have up to 5 users so others can learn along with you and that makes it a good value for households that have several members who would like to learn the language. I think it would also be a good family activity/project and learning with others would be great for motivation and practice. The audio companion CDs are a big help to reinforce and practice what you have learned.
I had no problems with ... Read More:

I have mixed feelings about this expansion. Mask Of the Betrayer has caused me to do something I haven't done since the nintendo days, cheat. I've never used 'cheats' for a game. But when mask of the betrayer introduced the ridiculous spirit meter system, causing me literally hours of pure frustration, I resorted to the only thing that would allow me to experience the game.
The spirit meter looks good on paper - introduce a system that makes your choices and tactics more meaningful by restricting resting, and providing a new "twist" on gameplay. Sadly, it was poorly implemented. There are so many restrictions on NWN gameplay staples like resting and traveling that instead of adding a tactiful twist it's been mindbogglingly frustrating.
