I purchased this program recently and have been using it to arrange original compositions. For the price, it is truly a good value and has some nice features; however, do not be fooled by the "guitar chord diagram" feature. It only has 1 choice of fingering, so if you want your "C MAJ 7" to be played at the 8th fret... too bad. It only shows it in the open position; so various voicings are out of the question. I just leave that feature alone now.

The built in soft-synth is nice, better than what most computers have already in them and it gives you a taste of what you want to hear.

My only other gripe about this program is the fact that you cannot save your final work as a .pdf file or word file. So, you're stuck ... Read More:

Make Your Own Karaoke Vocal Remover Software

I was not aware that it was even possible to remove vocals from a song. I purchased this software to create a song for my daughter to use for her dance recital. I simply loaded the MP3 song into the software and followed the easy step-by-step instructions. I pressed the play button to hear exactly what I wanted! Only the music, and no more vocals! My understanding is that different songs produce different results, and the best music to use doesn't have alot of echo effects already recorded into it. I tried another song to use in my daughters Sunday School class for her to sing with and this one left a small amount of remaining vocal in the background, but when she sang with the song it sounded like a back up singer which worked out perfectly. ... I got this to goof around with and to consider letting my 3-year-old daughter play with. The program is probably too advanced for my daughter, though I'm sure it's usable by some 4 and 5 year olds (it's recommended for ages 6 to 9). But I find it pretty fun, and it seems like, even for an adult, a good first step toward using Sony's Acid products. So I recommend it, but with reservations.

As another reviewer noted, the program expects you to have the CD inserted (the loops -- the building blocks of the songs -- are on the CD). This is a huge drag. There's a way around it, but it requires some computer savvy. Specifically, you have to copy an image (an ISO file) of the installation CD to your hard drive, then "mount" that image so ... Adobe Audition 3 Upgrade

I've been using Adobe Audition since I started production of my podcast, GET FIT POD, about a year ago. I recently upgraded to Adobe Audition 3. I had no experience with audio production software prior to using Audition. It is a very difficult product for the novice to learn, but well worth the time. If you have the time to deal with the learning curve (about 8 weeks, 8 episodes for me) it is well worth it.

The great selection of pre-sets for the different effects are very beneficial for podcast production. Somebody needs to write the book "Adobe Audition Made Easy for Podcasters", or "Adobe Audition for Dummies".

Audio Cleaning Lab 12

I had been very satisfied with Audio Cleaning Lab 10, but with the purchase of a new computer, I discovered it was not compatible with Windows Vista. I've given Audio Cleaning Lab 12 three stars only because there are some tasks I still can't perform as I could with ACL 10. But I'm still learning, so I might upgrade the ranking later.

More than 99 percent of the time I'm burning my collection of vinyl classical CDs, and I'm perfectly satisfied with the results.
