I have a 7 year old daughter and this product has helped to motivate her to want to continue lessons and practice. She has a lot of fun with it!

The video software is very good, but note that If you have the free trial, It will need to be uninstalled for the program to install right. Also, When entering the product code. you don't put in any spaces.
One installed it works very fluently and produces good output though the Keying could be better.
I had already owned Paint Shop Pro Photo X2 so I didn't install it. I will eventually to see if it has its claimed better Vista performance.
Note that Painter essential PHOTO does not let you paint your own picture like the normal Painter essential.

I bought it to make disc images. It does what it says it does and then some. Lots of other applications that are fun to play with. One let me set up a multimedia server that could be seen by my PS3.
Some is a bit technical and there are a lot of options so I would not recommend this for a novice user.

There's a lot to like with VideoStudio 11.5. I like the interface. It is very simple to capture video and edit it in a straightforward manner. It has some usable transitions and basic audio editing features. There are a number of advanced features, but - frankly - they are an awful lot of trouble to use.
I've run into several conversion issues. After troubleshooting for a couple of days, I finally gave up on trying to convert AVI files at the DVD creation screen. They had to be pre-converted or the application would consistently crash.

I've used Cubase for many years for my personal production and ProTools whenever I'm in the the studio. I purchased Logic Studio for 3 reasons.
- The price
- No dongle
- I wanted an upgrade from Cubase
Logic Studio met my 3 needs and surpassed them by miles! This program runs circles around Cubase for more reasons than I can count so I won't spend time there but the thing that surprised me was the out-of-the-box functionality that eclipsed anything I could've gotten in ProTools (for less than a few thousand). Plus the MIDI functionality rivaled my other favorite program, Reason 4.
I run LS on my MacBook 2.4GHz, 4GB, Leopard 10.5.5 and it runs smoothly without ANY issues. The LS track count embarrasses ProTools. So far, ... Read More:

Bought this in August 2008 and I'm very happy with it. I mostly use the song editor to create vocal exercises which I use to train with everyday. I've never taken singing lessons (and can't afford them at the moment), so this is a great way to train my voice and ears. The sing-along pitch tracking system had me singing on key in no time, at least while I'm watching the screen. I have not had any problems running this program on Windows Vista 64-bit. The lessons are good for learning how the program works, though they are obviously geared toward kids. It's fun to mess around on this with friends as well. For $20 (and I noticed the price is dropping further), this program is WELL worth it.

The layout and interface are very Garage Band-like making it an easy to learn application. There are many more options for recording and saving files than Garage Band. Without reading any manual I was able to set up basic one-track recording, record a song, punch-in corrections, loop sections, and do some basic editing for both audio and midi. There's so much more to the program yet I'm happy with what I can do just out of the box!
Garage Band is a great beginner product but if you need to step up into a professional program Logic Express is a good first step. In my opinion, it's easier to begin with than Pro Tools or Digital Performer.

I have owned this software for about two weeks. My only prior experience with video editing is Movie Maker and InterVideo WinDVD. I was originally going to purchase Sony Vegas Movie Studio 8 but then I noticed this version was just released and it has some new features.
After some initial frustration I am happy with the purchase. The learning curve is what is so frustrating especially for a novice like me. I made two coasters (though I admit that was really my fault) and at one point I was considering trying to return it for a refund because I was getting so stressed. I still get frustrated with the fact that you have to use two separate programs: Vegas Movie Studio 9 to make the movie and DVD Architect 4.5 (included) to make the menus and author the disc. ... This is a fantastic piece of software made just for guitarists. You do NOT need to know music notation. If you can find the Guitar Pro tab for a song and load it into Guitar Pro, it will make learning and practicing the song MUCH easier! It is not perfect software, however. The interface is not as polished or slick, as say Sibelius or Finale Allegro or Finale G7 (I've tried them), but does FAR more then they can for the guitar player (and at a lower price). For example, you can repeat sections of a song over and over at different speeds until you finally learn the part. It can even speed up sections incrementally to help you learn a part. You can see the tab and the correct rhythm in standard notation above. TRY IT. There's probably a demo!
