Norton has unilatterally determined that "they know best" and when you try to optimize your disk, it WILL NOT optimize them unless NORTON thinks they need to be optimized. Even 7% fragmentation does not reach the "magic threshold".

I chated for over 1 hour with Norton Support (an oxymoron) and was told that I should just use Windows Defrag because 360 would only defrag when IT wanted to.

Systemworks is a GREAT product - could run SpeedDisk and even at 7% fragmentation you could speedup your computer by running the utility.

I guess Norton thinks that every single computer user now-a-days is "computer illeteriate", and that they need to FULLY AUTOMATE EVERYTHING.

Webroot Spy Sweeper Antispyware 5.x

I have been a satisfied Webroot customer for five years now, but I'm afraid our relationship is nearing termination.

As others have said, the 'nag' screens are getting ridiculous. They also automatically enroll you in auto renewal whenever you upgrade one of their products and only tell you about it in the fine print. It's easy enough to opt out, but still.

My mom had been using Spy Sweeper successfully in conjunction with Trend Micro Antivirus for a couple of years and then upgraded to Webroot Antivirus with AntiSpyware 5.8 and started having problems. The two are no longer compatible. I use it in conjunction with Norton on mine and it works fine though.

Microsoft Expression Web Upgrade from FrontPage [OLD VERSION]

This version of Expression is ok. I was expecting a much more rounded and intuitive product from Microsoft. It is still light years behind Dreamweaver. Not too many new features for my personal use. If you have the last version of Front Page don't waste the money on this product. Wait until Microsoft makes some real changes in the software before upgrading.

Trend Micro Antivirus 2008

The Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware was reccommended by our IT employee. He felt it was the best out there at the present time. I found it easy to follow the instructions on the CD for installation and so far--so good! It is also nice to have a CD if you need to reinstall the program (which you can't do if you have downloaded a program from the internet) You also have the help from Trend Micro if needed, by email, phone or chat.

I currently have "CA Internet Security Suite 2009 (for 1 User)" installed on my computer.

CA's "[Technical] Premier Support" for their products, including the "Internet Security Suite 2009" is competent, diligent and capable.

I was very pleased with the quality of service that they offered me to restore my computer after it was infected with a deceptive rouge virus called "XP Antispyware 2009", which initially could not be removed by the now available 2009 version of the internet security suite.

CA's general technical support was less helpful.

They denied the availability on the market of the "Internet Security Suite 2009" (made for the "Staples" chain of office suppliers in the US). They even suggested that my product key may not be ... Read More:

Bitdefender Internet Security 2009 2Yr/5Pc

Got this software right when it came out and it's everything Consumer Reports said it was. My PC is running like new... in fact better than new. Norton was slowing the thing down terribly. It also found a slew of viruses that Norton did not find. The other features like the gaming mode and file vault make this software a bargain. Definitely worth the #1 ranking!

The creative suite 3.3 is the latest update in the Adobe suite, and the Design Standard bundle comes with everything a web programmer like me needs to do graphics for websites. Illustrator and Photoshop are recognized as the industry standard tools for the job for good reason, their functionality and features are unparalleled by anything else around. The suite is not for the feint of heart though as these tools are professional grade tools and as such require some introduction to use effectively. The menu styles and access methods for features is a little unusual for most windows users, but a good introduction book will cure that ill very quickly enabling you to get up to speed rapidly.
