I am unable to hang a heavy bag anywhere in my house so I decided to purchase a wavemaster training bag. At first I had doubts because I thought it would tip right over but it proved me wrong. After filling the base with water it proved to be both stable and resistant. The only complaint I have is that it tends to move around during my workout but I compensate by circling the bag and hitting from all sides.

OK, I'm new to this, just got this to expand my exercise a bit. So as I'm punching away, the bag has a tedency to spin a bit. No matter how much I tighten it up, even with the lock washer, it spins the bolt right out of the nut.
Don't bother with this, or if you get this, also buy a separate swivel mechanism. I'm taking mine down and replacing it with something that acutally incorporates a swivel of sorts - the only "swivel" this allows is the bottom piece spinning, which puts the torque on the bolt which then spins out of the nut on top.

you will need to fill it with sand. filling it with 270 lbs as recommended, it still moved about 6 in. from the floor. I made a hole on top and filled it with 400 lbs. now it moves only an inch from the floor. dont fill it with any more because the column would be too heavy, just up to 1/3 the column

Works great, other than the fact that I got a defective chain to hang it with, missing one of the hooks, and one of the three that were there was on the wrong end, so I had two hooks on 7 link chains, one on an 11 link chain (about five inches too long then) and no way to hang the thing correctly. Emailed Amazon about it, and in less than 10 minutes I had shipping confirmation for a replacement unit.

Haven't been able to hang it properly yet, but the little playing with it that I did to see how it will be once properly hung gave me a good feeling. For the price, can't beat the deal.

Everlast, but made in China!!??

The platform board was broken in half. It was made of some kind of crappy presswood (basically a step above cardboard). The rest of the set had "cheap" written all over it.

Spend the extra dough and buy American made (if you can even find American made anymore)...

highly recommend this vs the traditional hook assembly. the only problem is getting the "latch" off to hook up the speed bag. you will need a link wrench or a needle nose pliers. this does not come with instructions how to do this, go on to the web and you will see many entries on how to do this. other than that one issue it is a very nice complement to traditional hooks.

I bought this bag awhile ago thinking that for my stand up it would be good. As others have mentioned this DOESN'T replace a heavy hanging bag but this is still a great item. The problem I had when I bought this bag was expecting it to be tall enough for me to punch but sadly this is not the case. I'm a little taller so my punches go over the bag but this is great if you want to practice body shots or working the inside. Now, for why I think this bag is great. I practice Muay Thai and I swear to you that there is no other product better for practicing simple kicks and knees. This bag is the perfect height for working the Muay Thai clinch of course nothing beats having someone wearing pads but if you don't have the luxury of someone to spar with this bag is what you need.
