I've been trying to find a sensibly sized and priced replacement for my existing Casio watch with a 'Thermometer' for several years. Being a heating engineer apart from the obvious that it gives me accurate time I find a watch with a thermometer so very handy when balancing and checking room and water temperatures etc plus other features like the stop watch I can use for adjusting gas rates on heating appliances etc.
I purchased my first Casio 'Thermomter' watch in the UK in the 1980's and it is still working perfectly but while wearing it at work the face did get very scratched. Another victim of the Sudden G-Shock Death Syndrome described in other reviews here. This one just went dead after less than 6 months of normal use -- no water immersion, no banging or shocks, no falls from high buildings. I sent it to an authorized repair center, got it back seemingly repaired, but then 2 months later it was dead again. My once high confidence in Casio is shot. For everyday use I've replaced it with a $14 Timex 1440 which is nowhere near as cool-looking, but has functioned reliably for over a year. I've also owned incredibly cheap no-name digital watches for use at the gym that were more durable and lasted for years. This is a nice watch and really worth the money. No batteries and no setting the time ever! I tried a couple of Casio atomic watches before this one and they all had problems receiving the signal to set the time (in east coast), this watch sets it self every time I leave it over night near a window. Looks decent too, it doesn't try to be all macho and tough!

I love this watch. I was looking at $300-400 Citizen and Seiko watches when I remembered the movie "Stranger Than Fiction". The only down side is the watch is a little heavy and the analog hands are not meshed with the digital time. You have to set them separately.

Bought this watch back in May to use at the pool on the weekends, but loved the alarm and started wearing it at night (then switched back to the dress watch for work). Unfortunately, it fogged up with water, the digital numbers started fading and the alarm no longer works. Oh well, for the price, I guess a few months' work is OK. I am going to buy another one rather than send it back to TIMEX......... It appears that you have to pay $7.00 S/H which makes me just want to throw this out and order a new one (or two).

I bought this watch because it was cheap... and I got less than I paid for. First, the countdown timer can't be set to repeat. That is, it can't be set to go off every 15 minutes. I've owned several digital watches, and I've never come across one without this basic function.

Then I took it into the ocean and it died. Those little hunks of metal at the top and bottom of the face have fallen off, and I guess that means it's not waterproof anymore. I wasn't especially rough on this watch, and I have no idea when I lost those bits of the watch.

Look elsewhere for a cheap digital watch.

This was actually a replacement watch, because somebody snagged my first one (don't know why I even took it off in the first place...). Great sports watch--light, functional, plenty of features. Only a couple issues: 1) there's a slight crack that developed just on the left of the large start/lap button at the bottom of the watchface. I thought it was actually a scratch for the longest time, but it hasn't caused any problems (as far as I can tell). 2) The start/lap button is a little unresponsive at times, and it has been for as long as I can remember. Then again, this could be related to issue 1). Either way, great buy!!!

I purchased these for the man in my life. Compared to other similar items, these rate the best quality and just overall fit/likeablility. They are holding up well with frequent use and frequent washing. I would recommend these to anyone!

This is a fantastic watch...The second i took it out the box i was amazed. The light hit it and the atomic timekeeping began without me doing anything. I definitely would recommend this watch to anyone and everyone. I constantly receive compliments on this watch at work. i purchased this watch because i needed a durable watch out in the field (paramedic field). I think the best thing about this watch is the atomic timekeeping. I left state for the weekend and all i had to do was change states and it automatically adjusted according to that time (analog remained the same but digital changed).
