All I can say is "WOW!" After reading about this blower/vacuum in Consumer Reports, and how well it worked, I decided to purchase it. I searched all over the internet, but found that Amazon's "amazing" price of just under $70 was unbeatable. That included free shipping. My blower/vac arrived the next day. Lucky me! Anyhow, It has PLENTY of power. Matter of fact, it has more power than the gas powered backpack blower I had, which pleasantly surprised me. I used the Toro to clean my gutters, and blow and vacuum my leaves, and it did all 3 jobs easily. Again, I'm "blown away" with the amount of power it has. The only "inconvenience" is having to pull an extension cord around with it, but you can solve that by buying the longest extension cord you ... Read More:

Although this product is a bit delicate, it does a job on leaves, shredding them down to a fine mulch. This "weed-wacker" in a drum reduced all the leaves in my compost pile to useable mulch for my beds this fall and I'll use it to reduce this year's leaves into more manageable particles for composting this year. Just put it over a garbage can and you can easily transport mulch to any part of your yard. It does put a lot into the air, so protect your eyes.

I have a lot of leaves every fall and needed something other than a gas blower. They are just too heavy for me nowadays. So I bought the Cordless Electric Broom from Black and Decker. What a great job it does even if they are wet on the driveway. I am really happy with it. I also just bought another one for my 84 year old neighbor as his gas blower was just too heavy for him too. I would very much recommend it to anyone who has leaves!

Xantrex Technologies 851-0400 XPower Plus 400-Watt Inverter

Several of the Xantrex inverters including this one have much looser frequency specs compared to the last generation of inverters which were typically 60 Hz +/- 0.01%. Many of the current crop of these inverters have 60 +/-4 Hz which is 60 Hz +/- 7%. To be fair, I've noticed a number of inverters made by other companies also have relaxed this spec. I measured the output frequency of several models and found their outputs to range from 58 Hz to 64 Hz. I didn't test to see if the frequency changed with temperature, input voltage, load, or other other factors. I suppose the reason for this change in specs is that these manufacturers are now cost cutting to the extent of eliminating a 30 cent quartz crystal. In the aftermath of an early fall (leaves still on the trees) snow storm that put down 35" of wet heavy snow and devastated a number of trees, I immediately ordered this saw. Now after 8 truck and trailer loads of limbs and almost a chord of firewood cut I could not be more pleased. It has required nothing more than a chain tightening, some bar oil and electricity. It cuts as well as my gas saw but is light and comfortable to use.

I received this about a month ago, and it has been a life saver. I have chronic pain in my back, and car rides are awful for me. This last weekend I went to Kansas City, MO (from South Dakota) and had very little trouble on the car ride. I know it is because I was able to use my heating pad in the car! I love this produce and would recommend it to anyone.

Anything thicker than half an inch - the machine stalls, even if you try to feed it in short bursts. Once it stalls, you have to unscrew three nuts, and the main one (with a safety power-off) is located so close to the body of the machine that you can only make a quarter of a turn at a time, otherwise your fingers get caught between the nut and the machine. Once you unscrew all the nuts and lift the top, you do not see anything wrong there, no bits of wood stuck between the knives or anything, so you replace the top, screw the nuts, start it - and then you go through the whole procedure two minutes later, for no apparent reason.
Waste of time and money if you want to chip branches, even small ones. OK for twigs - but even then you do not produce real chips, you mostly ... Read More:

This is a great product for women...light weight and easy to use. I purchased it for leaves and it does the job very well...I really like the dual speed also. I use almost all electric outdoor equipment because the gas run things are just too heavy to handle. I will be using it to clean the walls in the garage as well as on the house and I am sure I will find other uses too.

We received the backpack blower, followed the instructions and it was almost impossible to start. Finally got it started and it idled but every time I tried to accelerate it would die. I did everything according to the instructions and obviously there was a serious problem with the product. Very poor quality control. Contacted Amazon and this item cannot be returned so they credited my account. I went ahead and ordered a Ryobi reconditioned unit... received it and no manual, no instructions. Did get it started, idles great but it has such a bad vibration that after using it 5 minutes my right hand was numb and my lower back was numb.
