Commercials make everything look better and easier and this product is proof of this analysis. The shipping was very fast, but the product does not glide or work as smoothly as the commercial insists. The the tube of silicone that came with the product is poor quality, so it would be best to buy your own - and lots of it. Using the product on bath tile is not smooth, easy or neat at all.
If you move at a snail's pace without stopping, you could probably pull it off without any problems. I don't know too many people who move that slowly and the commercial showed a person moving at a fast pace (The commercial must have been sped up). If you have lots of time on your hands to sit and move slowly, then this product is perfect ... Read More:
I was surprised that this security bar was limited in the size. I have a doggie door in the patio frame, so my patio glass door does not close to the full length of the door frame. The security bar would not become small enough.
The product was very well made and felt very strong. I would have been very happy with it but for the doggie door.
I purchased this OnGuard Pitbull MINI DT 5008 lock after extensive research on the best locks and locking techniques available. I decided to use the Sheldon Brown method, which requires you to lock your back wheel to a rack or parking meter, making sure you pass through the rear triangle of the frame. A mini u-lock is recommended as it is harder for thieves to work with. However, the lock is so small that, depending where I can find to lock up, I can't get it to close using the Sheldon Brown technique and have to lock up somewhat more insecurely. The cable, while not capable of doing battle with a bolt cutter, is great for locking down my seat post - especially comforting given the rash of bike seat thefts in my area. The 5 included keys are ... Read More:
i don't usually have the time or bother to write reviews, but i just thought i'd let everyone know that like several other reviewers of this lock, i too had my bike stolen using it. another bike locked to the same post as mine with a different u-lock was left untouched.
the lock doesn't work. reason enough not to purchase it i think. i'm getting a more heavy duty one this time.
This bungee cord seems to be well-build and is very easy to adjust, so it would work well for a lot of applications. However, it does not stretch as much as I would like for the travel cart I bought it for. If you are looking to use this because you need a firm cord, this will be perfect (keeping the trunk to a car closed around an oversized item, etc). If you need more give in it, another type of bungee might be better.
Added lock graphite powder to the lock because the pin tumblers seemed dry.
The key is keyed so it will only slide in one way, i.e it is not symmetrical. Used
fingernail polish to mark one side of the key and marked the side of the
lock near keyhole so I could tell how to insert it.
I needed something to anchor a small antique vase to a stand, that wouldn't harm the vase. The people at Scott Laurent Gallery in Orlando suggested museum putty. I couldn't find any locally so I ordered Quake Hold from Amazon. It works great! Once applied (with no waiting period), objects hold tight, but can be removed with a clock-wise twist, and the putty comes right off of the surfaces. We have four active cats, and I trust this stuff enough to display two very large vases which I've anchored to end tables. They haven't budged -- the vases, not the cats. They're everywhere. A little goes a long way too. I ordered four packages and I just finished the first, having also used it to attach fabric to some art glass for display. It's cheap, ... Read More:
FIrst things, first. If a bike thief really wanted your bike, he'll get it no matter what kind of lock you have. Think of bike locks in general as just a "deterrent." That being said, I only use this lock for use on quick errands and areas of high foot traffic. If you plan on leaving a bike anywhere long, I'd suggest a U-lock in conjunction with a cable lock.
I've had another combo cable lock in the past. This one is the best. The combo was so easy to set. I like the use of a combo lock since I never have to worry about losing a key. The only way I can lose my combo is if I lose my mind. The lock mechanism has great engineering/machining by the way the combo numbers spin and the way it smoothly locks together. The length is perfect ... Read More:
