The dive I am forced to stay in has jimmy marks on the outside of the door hardware...The door bar in question gives peace of mind that the door will STAY closed when I'm on the inside, asleep. Saves on the hassle of firearms, and works well as a window jammer to stop entry from my fire escape when I'm away.

I'm on Amazon to return this product right now. The key is very fickle -- I can only get the darn thing unlocked 1 out of 20 turns of the key. There might be a trick to it, but I don't know what it is. Also, as far as I can tell from reviews (that I should have read), these things do not keep your bike safe!

At this low price (66% less than Tumi) these are better than the Tumi locks they give you with a Tumi bag purchase. The cable has the ability to swivel/rotate so it doesn't get all bound up like one where the cable is firmly fixed on one end....This greatly improves the life of the locking cable...Of course they are TSA certified, so no worries when traveling in the USA

I bought these little locks for a recent vacation and they worked fine. All four locks can be opened by the same, TSA approved key, which makes digging through luggage a breeze. The only reason I didn't give this item 5 stars was because the locks are so puny, I have a feeling they can be busted easily. But for extra peace of mind they're great!

The lock is super easy to set up and easy to remember your combination. OK it won't be a long word but at least YOU set it up and change the combination anytime you need to. it is NOT a SUPER high security lock (not recommended for locking your store front gate or your bike but the lock can't be slim jim open. You need the combination to open AND CLOSE the lock (not a snap lock) The to set the combination, remove the cap where the shackle goes into the lock, the wheels will come out and place in the new combination with the assorted wheels. can be combine with other Master Lock 1534D Wheels of different colors if you choose to do so (assuming that you have purchase other color locks)

Functional.Larger than expected,which takes away from it's portability.OK for a locker or very large suitcase, but that is about all.Would not recommend it for anything else.

A full two days after my daughter started using this lock her locker was broken into. The lock was still intact and not broken. It was hacked using an aluminum can. This lock works great for honest people not for people hoping for security with dishonest kids in middle school. Of course the regular combination locks get hacked with the same aluminum can trick.

I've had this lock for over a month now and overall, it's been a good experience. I haven't had any of the key problems mentioned by some other reviewers (I did notice that the key will not turn smoothly if the lock is loose - so, if you want your key to turn well, make sure that the bar and the U are flush and fully engaged.) The lock is definitely pretty heavy-duty, and excellent for that old trick of "park next to a nicer bike with a cable lock." So far I've not had any problems leaving my bike downtown in a fairly thief-heavy town (Santa Cruz, CA).
