i am a novice at compressors. after reading the reviews of the different compressors, this looked like the best one for my needs; and it is. BUT the instruction manual is written for an experienced user. it is not explanatory at all. in fact i called the factory after i couldn't figure out how some of the fittings go together. the customer service person had to ask someone else. except for the instruction manual though, this is a great unit, & i'll get a lifetime of use out of it.

I read a lot of reviews for several different pin nailers. I have nothing negative to say about this gun. Works beautifully every time. Considering it is three times "Less expensive", you can't go wrong.

I used these nails to install 3/4" maple & brazilian cherry hardwood floors at my house. I've used about 1.5 boxes so far and no jams. Only one nail was bent and didn't go through the cherry. That happened to be the last nail in the nailer so I think that's more of a problem of the nailer instead of the nail. Now I put a new row of nails in before it runs out in the nailer. No bent nails had happened since then and it also protect the nailer from dry firing.
Great product.
It's cheaper at amazon than my local HomeDepot.

I have owned this tool for about three years now and am quite happy with the sound level, size and performance. As with anything there are trade-offs with it's compact size and air capacity. I do allot of woodworking so this is my stapler and brad nail partner.
It cycles less than you would think, but if you have to clean off shelving or a project where you just spray continously you'll see that the small tank can't keep up too well. But as I said, I can put this in the truck or carry it into a home and most of all it's QUIET. I read all of these specs and when the manufacturer says it operates at a certain decibel level, it better not sound like a jet engine!
Bottom line, I like Makita and I like this compressor.

I bought this nailer specifically to use the Hurriquake nails on earthquake reinforcement projects. Its been a pleasure to use and have had only a couple of misfeed nails. The plastic debris from the nail clips does make a mess - wearing good eye protection is a must. It is surprisingly light for it's size, and has excellent power.

Factory-Reconditioned DEWALT D51844R Round Head 2-inch to 3-1/2-inch Framing Nailer

The nailer arrived and was as advertised. The price was a little higher than the cheap no name nailers, but well worth the extra money. I used the nailer to install Hardie plank siding using 2 1/2 inch nails. Since this application required flush nailing, I played with the settings and it ended up either too deep or above the surface. I then adjusted the air pressure and the depth adjustment and that came up with a good setting. The nailer seemed to jam if you let it get below about 4-5 nails. Keep the nailer fed, and jamming is eliminated. I used a PC pancake compressor and it kept up with me. I am not sure if a pro would require a higher capacity compressor.

Makita MAC2400 13 Amp 2-1/2 Horsepower 4.2-Gallon Oiled Twin Hot Dog Compressor

Number one, this is the first QUIET compressor I have ever owned! I have yet to run power tools off of it, but so far operating my hydraulic lift and airing up the tires it is performing very well. It takes very little time to get up to 120 lbs. operating pressure. It has it own air filter and separate oil supply. This is a GOOD thing! The el cheapo compressors that don't require oil are a disaster waiting to happen. That oil will go somewhere and you can't replace it. Guess what? You've got one seized compressor. If I were in the trades and needed a compressor all the time, I would probably buy a gas motor compressor but for occasional light to medium tool use, operating a lift and inflation duties, this is a really good compressor.
