This is not a good escape ladder for kids. We have a 6 year old daughter who was not strong enough to lift this heavy ladder up to the window, unfold the cumbersome hooks, and then throw the ladder part out the window. It is hard and awkward even for an adult to do this let alone a child.

Once the ladder is hooked on the window sill, you have to lean waaayyy out the window to pull the release tab, risking falling out the window to do this, especially if you are a vertically challenged.

Once you pull the tab, the ladder is supposed to neatly fall to the ground without getting caught up on itself. Wrong. The ladder gets so tangled that it would require you to go 4 or 5 steps down, untangle, go 4 more steps, untagle, ... Read More:

the ladder is long enough for 3 stories and seems to be easy to use. i purchased as a gift for family. hopefully they'll never need it. i esp. like it because it seems more stable and stands well away from the building. think it might have been a little hard to repack after they checked it out though, hence 4 stars.

Rubbermaid 4209-P4-WHT EZ Step 2-Step Folding Step Stool, White

This stool is great to have around the house. It is very lightweight, folds up nicely and is very sturdy. A great product for the price. I would recommend it to anyone in the market for a portable lightweight step stool. It has even gone traveling with us in our RV and in the back of our truck.

I have not had the miss fortune of using the product. I say this becuause it is for one purpose, to use it as a fire escape option. I purchased this item using the free shipping method and arrive at my doorstep three days later. Great shopping experience!!!!!

Non-slip, non-marking covers for a ladder. I tried bubble wrap and duct tape. This works much better. Don't be a cheapskate.

I first saw this ladder at Linens and Things but when I needed to buy they no longer carried it . I had been hunting for a long time and finally found it on Amazon.com. It is every thing I was hoping for...strong, stable, and so light weight that I can grab it quickly for use in my new Kitchen! I love it and so many friends have asked about it. I bought these to to make it safer to use my extension ladder on uneven ground. They really work and has made significantly safer for me to use the ladder. I like that you can adjust for unevenness on either side of the ladder. Easy to install.

Werner AC78 QuickClick Stabilizer

The ladder stablizer came in the mail very quickly. It was packaged very well and was very easy to put together on the top rung of my extension ladder. The part, however,was a bit too long not allowing the ladder to retract fully (slide togther to its original shortest length - i.e now one rung larger). Even with that inconvience, the part worked as described on the internet. It was very convient to take apart and put together. One problem though. I had the ladder flat on my roof during the day causing the rubber tips to "partially melt" and become somewhat deformed. And now do not hold to the ends of the stablizer very well. Will need duck tape to hold the tips to the ladder.

This is a great ladder. Lightweight and balanced. Very sturdy steps, and no wobble at all.
