I thought about buying the Mantis Tiller for several years. I ordered the video and watched it each spring. I was hesitant about spending the money on something I would only use once in a while. Last spring I finally decided to buy the Mantis. I figured I use it to get my garden going, it wouldn't meet my expectation and I could send it back for a refund. Well, this tiller is everything they say it is. I wouldn't part with it and I've used it many times during the year,I even aerated my lawn.

Mantis 120-Volt Electric Tiller/Cultivator with Border Edger and Kickstand #7250-15-02

When I lived in Peru I used the Mantis 120-Volt Electric Tiller/Cultivator to work a large, extended field. It's Electric so I had to use a generator, fortunately I rigged it up to run on ethanol fuel (corn) so I wasn't contributing to oil exploitation.

The Tiller/Cultivator is not at all bad for the ground and I was done in no time and able to plant my seeds. It works adequately and is quite suitable for medium rough soil. I even lent it out to the village and it held up after one year.

I wouldn't mind if it operated on pig waste either if I could convert it somehow. In all, if you are just using the Tiller/Cultivator on a patch of yard, you'll be able to plug it in. The electric motor is quiet so I did not disturb ... Read More:

Mantis Compost Thermometer #201101

This thermometer worked well for a while then got stuck at 80 deg. I think the shaft twisted slightly apart from the face part as I pulled it out of one of my compost piles.

Mantis Tiller Weed Reducers #1722-00-02

I just received these and I've not used my Mantis in a weedy area yet so I can't comment on how well they work.

But I am pretty unhappy about the false advertising. The description of this item specifically says "Constructed of solid steel for strength and durability." But this is a lie. These parts are constructed of relatively cheap, light weight plastic. I hope they don't need to be strong or durable to survive! It really bothers me when companies make "mistakes" like this that favor themselves and hurt their customers.

They may or may not work, but they are definitely overpriced considering they are small, simple pieces of cheap plastic and Mantis is charging quite a bit for them.

Mantis Tiller Tine Detangler #1322-00-02

I know it's just a piece of tempered steel with a dipped in plasticote handle but it's the perfect piece. It really makes digging out tangles easier. I have owned Mantis Tillers for nearly twenty years and just got a detangler a month or so ago. What a difference! Don't buy the tiller without buying this!

Bought this Lawn Mower mainly for my parents are who love to take care of the garden, which includes cutting the grass! They are getting on in age, but still insist to get their "exercise".

This was a perfect gift for them, it is light, easy to start, quiet, and cuts the lawn beautifully, as if it was done with a pair of hand held scissors. The battery life is fine, I purchased an extra one just in case. I have personally used it to cut the lawn many times now, and can say it is so easy to use, I actually enjoy cutting the lawn. :o) It is a pleasure to look back at the immaculately cut lawn.

We did have the loose hub cap as in another reiview, but it is purely cosmetic, I'm sure I will get around someday to put it back ... Read More:

Mantis Tiller Aerator/Dethatcher Attachment Combo #7321-00-02

We just received this attachment yesterday and have put it to good use already. Working on a 1 acre lot, with lots of problem areas, these attachments worked great. We only have the Mantis tiller about 6 months and love it. The attachments were easy to put on. The thatcher amazed us with how much it pulled up, without damaging the good grass. The aerator, seems more like a slit seeder, did a nice job . This is the first time we did this on our lawn, so we will see how it looks in a couple of weeks after the new grass we planted comes in. We thought it cut a little deep, so we just worked it to keep it at a depth we preferred. Mantis No Spill Gas Can 1-1/4-Gallon CA #811012

Great filling can. I use it for my 1/5th scale rc cars and it would work very well for a bike or car. Great system where you just press the button on the rear whilst tipping and fuel comes pouring out. No more spills. Def worth the asking price. I bought 2 just because how well the first one worked.

This item arrived quite quickly after the purchase. This product is quite similar to the Brill Razorcut 38 and no-where near the expense. And, it came with the grass-catcher bag. (The bag does not like to stay in place, but does work.)
As for assembly, if you can read diagrams and follow a simple picture... there really isn't much to it. Not many pieces and parts to get confused with... its pretty staight forward = "Look at the picture and diagrams for each part before starting." Such as: You'll need part A,B,C and screw it together to look like the picture.
I highly recommend the manual - Reel Lawn Mowers, and this one was at a wonderful price that included the grass-catch. This machine looks and functions quite well and appears solid for a green plastic ... Read More:
