Several of the Xantrex inverters including this one have much looser frequency specs compared to the last generation of inverters which were typically 60 Hz +/- 0.01%. Many of the current crop of these inverters have 60 +/-4 Hz which is 60 Hz +/- 7%. To be fair, I've noticed a number of inverters made by other companies also have relaxed this spec. I measured the output frequency of several models and found their outputs to range from 58 Hz to 64 Hz. I didn't test to see if the frequency changed with temperature, input voltage, load, or other other factors. Xantrex Technologies 851-0178 XPower 175-Watt Micro Inverter

I received this about a month ago, and it has been a life saver. I have chronic pain in my back, and car rides are awful for me. This last weekend I went to Kansas City, MO (from South Dakota) and had very little trouble on the car ride. I know it is because I was able to use my heating pad in the car! I love this produce and would recommend it to anyone.

XANTREX POCKET INVERTER 175 (GEN2)

I too bought the unit based on the vendors reputation. It is small and powered my Dell D600 laptop without a problem using the battery adapter, but it got pleasantly warm. But there were some issues.

1. You must press a button to power it on and the small blue LED is very hard to see. If the power is interrupted, you've got to press the button to turn it on again. I'd prefer a slide or rocker switch for always on if powered.

2. The cigarette adapter didn't stay securely plugged into either receptacle on my Dodge 2500 truck. The slightest touch interrupted power and the unit shut off. Xantrex Technologies 802-1500 XPower Powerpack 1,500-Watt Portable Backup Power System

This is the second 1500 I purchased. I returned the first one and now the second one is working. I own two of the 600's which outperform the 1500. Very disappointed with this product. Buyer beware!

i don't know but I seem to go through an inverter every season. This one lasted only one season before I had to replace it as the last one (MAXXsst, 500w) had also lasted a season. I was only powering up a laptop (65 watts). I now have a Whistler 500w and have not used it for a full season.

I have only had this product for a few weeks but I have tested it and was quite happy with the result. The switch over from line power to internal power was seamless. The transition back to line power was the same. I had a Desktop PC, small lamp, cordless phone, router, Vonage modem, stereo and speaker switch for my whole house system operating for just shy of two hours before the fifty percent signal sounded. There was no deterioration of performance quality on my phone,sound system, or PC(Including my Magicjack).
I really like the display of wattage use, although it is not extremely precise. It was good enough for me to tweak my device choices.

This Xantrex 400-Watt Inverter is very nice and would strongly recommend it.

I have an old car and needed to wire it directly to the battery because of my older smaller wires in the dash. Other than Rewiring I have no problems with this little power house. I am in college and been finding my self sitting in my car surfing the internet and doing some classwork then my Laptop battery would go dead in about 3-5hrs... This little 400-Watt inverter has no problems powering my Laptop and recharging the batteries. I can sit for 2hrs running off my car battery (850cca) and not drain it or have to start engine to recharge because of low battery. Return Details: Lacking any real power output FOR A POWER supply, way toooo long solar charge time of 48 hours in direct sunlight(solar thing a farce)!! Useless since can't jumpstart a car, just uselesss period!! AC charge is 16 to 24 hours, car 12V charge is 3 hours before use from lighter socket. Any real runtime for smallest of appliances only.

Xantrex Technologies 813-1760 XPower Plus 1,750-Watt Inverter

I bought this for my houseboat to run the satellite system, TV's, fans, etc... It has worked out really well after two summers on the boat. We are able to run a couple fans (12"), the satellite system (self pointing), and a TV. With all this running, we still have enough juice to fire the microwave up if we need to.

My only setback was that I thought this would power my coffemaker. Apparently my coffeemaker requires a little more than this will handle.

Overall, I love this thing and would recommend it to anyone with similar needs.
