GE SmartWater Replacement Reverse Osmosis Filters (FX12P)

I have to replace this FX12P filter only after 4 months of use (I bought a new GXRM10G filter set from Home Depot). Suddenly one day the GXRM10G stopped working - no water out of the faucet.

I disassembled it. The post-filter looked OK (still white), but the pre-filter one became black. Worse, the pre-filter then stopped to filter the water well, so as result it damaged the RO membrane, making me to replace all of them.
My water quality is fine - for years we have drunk from the faucet. We use the filter just after having children

That contradicts to what they claim that the pre-filter can last 6 months and the RO membrance can last 3 years.

The product title is misleading. This is not a KitchenAid Whirlpool PUR "Ultimate" Filter as the title suggests. It is a four pack of "Advanced" filters which remove less contaminates than the "Ultimate" filter sold at Sears.

These are the three levels of filter quality.
Ultimate = Best (what I wanted)
Advanced = Good (what I got)
Deluxe = Fair

Broan #BP87 7" Range Hood Damper

This is a very cheaply made damper for older range venting systems that still have a 7" round vent pipe. Unlike the included rectangular damper, this one (not included in my Broan range hood) has no insulation between metal parts and thus is very noisy as the vented air passes through. Now we're forced to go through the extra time and expense of adapting the round pipe to the rectangular damper.

Well....Amazon needs to provide more information because even though it is marketed as Amway compatible it is not the same as Amway's.
First the filtering surface area of the filter is about ½ of the real Amway filter. Also, the filter is good for 6 months where the Amway filter is good for a year. Last, there is no documentation or any paper indentifying who makes the filter, how does it compare to Amway's, and who assumes product liability. I was given the name of the company that makes it but there is nothing in the filter that identifies the manufacturer. For all you can tell, it could have been made in someone's garage in China.

In all, you pay ½ the price but you get what you pay for: ½ the time, ½ the filter surface ... Read More:
