I am a home inspector. When I first bought this just over a year ago, for attics, I loved it. I started using it in different areas of the home, all the time. Well, just a couple months ago, the top rung pulled off as I was extending it. I contacted the current manufacturer at the supplied phone number. At first they were friendly, said to send it in with the warranty showing it was less than a year old. I told the man it was just over a year old. He wrote back by Email and said there was "nothing" they could do then. I replied that I understood but I would be happy to ship it and pay whatever it takes to fix it. If you need a really solid and sturdy wide-step ladder for reaching modest heights, this is it. It's not cheap and it's heavy but it won't slip around or tip over and it won't break or even flex.

BAC Industries Pulley Hoist - 80-Lb. Capacity

The pulley hoist is to be used to store a 14' kayak in my garage. It assembled well enough but when I tried to raise the kayak with a simple pull of the two ropes, the ropes sliped off the pully jamming the mechanism. It does work but I have to carefully raise or lower the kayak one rope at a time. Ok, but not as advertised. Product should have included a larger pulley to prevent this slipping problem.

Good idea but misleading. they made it sound so easy in the description. We had to send it back because it would not hold our older tv. My husband said it had a weight limit and anything but a flat screen was too heavy.

I bought these on the basis of the "indoor/outdoor" description, to use on the stairs leading down into the garage from the house -- all indoors. They turn out to be essentially coarse sand (or fine gravel) glued to a pad. The sand comes off easily (there was a fair amount detached in the unopened packaging) and can thus be tracked around. Back they go!
