I purchased this product years ago....sometime in late '05 or early '06 as I recall. I do NOT recall receiving any customer/product book with the ladder. The sales information on this ladder indicates a "lifetime
guarantee."
I've only used this ladder occasionally, mainly for indoor painting in my multi-story, old house. Used very seldom outdoors...never had a drop of rain or snow falling on it. Always stored indoors. Detailed instructions on ladder followed to a tee.
Last week, while trying to open ladder for some outside work...outside

This is the perfect solution to our small attic opening. It allows me to go into the attic any time I'd like. Before we had an opening that was too heavy for me to open and insulation fell down each time. Now I have a nice door with a pole to easily gain access and a ladder that is so easy to pull down and push up. As for installation, it seemed to go quickly. I had someone install it for me and it took him about 2 hours. The door is what took longer to create. I would recommend this to anyone with a small opening, what a difference!!!

I do a lot of wiring in closets and buildings I needed ladders that where easy to carry and store, since I bring 2 or three of these to jobs. Storing and transporting a frames take to much room. These fit the bill perfect. They take a little breaking in until you raise and lower them about 30 times they can stick a bit, some did some where fine out of the box. The collapsing works well but watch your fingers. There are safeties built in, but this is a collapsing type of latter is inherently risky where you put your hands. I have used several and this is the safest and best so far. I purchased these dolly's as a gift for my husband. They are very heavy-duty, but still very easy to move around and use. We have several classic cars, and these dollies are great! Just put them around the tires, jack them up, and push the vehicle around! No more starting the vehicles and wiggling them into place. Very convenient. I would recommend these to anyone.

Noticed that the Product Features section claims that this product has a freespooling clutch. This is not correct for Model 1401. Model 1406 will free spool, but this is not the product listed. Just thought you would want to know.

From the picture one would assume a 12 inch tile with 3 inch squares. NOT THE CASE. It is like the other checkerboards with 6 inch squares. This is misleading. I am not happy.

Good tool, a little cumbersome to adjust, but once done you can repeat the cuts easily. Great for those pieces around a window installation and to just trim off a sheet to length.

X-IT Products AL-30 3-Story Emergency Escape Ladder

We have an old 2 story house and therefore need a 3 story ladder. I researched all of the newer ladders after I tried to show the kids how to use the old metal rung and chain ladder that I had which was heavy and tangled and would have been very difficult to deploy in an emergency. I chose the X-IT because of the many reviews that rate it #1 of all the ladders out there. It does NOT require installation. Hook it over the sill and release the velcro strap. No tangles. It's that easy and the ladder in its small yellow carry case is very light. I'm very pleased with this product and would recommend it to anyone with a second story.
