As of January 1, 2002 a new State of Oregon smoke alarm law is in effect. ORS 479.257 states, "Every smoke alarm installed in a dwelling unit regulated under ORS chapter 90, a lodging house or a hotel guest room as required under ORS 479.255, shall contain" the following "features as described in ORS 479.297 (1) and (2)":



* Ionization smoke alarms that are solely battery-operated shall be packaged with a 10-year battery
* All ionization smoke alarms shall include a "hush" mechanism that allows a person to temporarily disengage the alarm for a period of not more than 15 minutes. This also applies to hard-wired smoke alarms.

First of all we love Amazon.com. These lights came in 2 days! My husband and I put them together; no missing parts and everything went together like it was supposed to. The only thing that wasn't quite clear was that the transformer has to be 10 feet away from the first light. We also spliced into the wire which was okay too. The lights are so nice across the front of our house (on both sides) and they automatically come on and off every night. Neighbors commented how nice they look. Little spotlights are nice too and can be adjusted to shine across your walkway. Would buy again!

I received one of these (the black version) a few days ago and my verdict is that I am likely to use it when reading books at night.

Brief overview:

- 2 super-bright LED's with lenses
- light has more blue and very little red, or yellow (think of a steady neon light)
- uses 3 (THREE) AAA batteries
- 40-hour battery life (claim is made on the package, not verified by me)
- power supply not provided
- relatively long, flexible arm
- can turn on 1 or 2 LED's
- solid build
- a bit heavy but had no problem using it with a paperback

I will definitely use this lamp when reading books at night. I doubt I will ever use it as a flashlight or a work light unless I had no ... Read More:

Intermatic TN711C Security Timer

We use it in my son's room to turn off the light after he's asleep. We've had it a few months and now it's making a constant buzzing noise. It's so loud I don't know how my son gets to sleep each night, but he doesn't seem to mind it. I would. It's a very annoying sound.

I bought this to go along with my electric lawn mower. I bought 12-gauge to make sure it delivered strong, steady power, but I'm second guessing the need given how heavy it is. This gauge in 100-foot length is weighty and takes some room. I was finally able to put it on a cord reel and it barely fit one designed for 125 feet of 14-gauge.

The casing doesn't seem as durable as other cords I've worked with. The vinyl scuffed up roughly very easily on the first use. The plug ends are big and bulky, barely fits into the recess on the mower, and may not fit items that do not have a flat access. so BEWARE! I don't see the lighted feature as more than just a sales gimmick.

I got this for a friend who quilts - she loves it. It's a perfect size to fit on a quilt hoop, and the double light makes it bright enough for any situation.

I had the impression this Fluorescent Worklight was on mini-tracks and could move around like a mini-tank with a remote wire when you can't move it by back muscle. Well, just be aware, you have to lug this SOB everywhere. Eventually a concrete slab fell on it. Totalled it just like that. Built like a horse, my [blank].

Buy it to prevent flooding in a remote building or area. We used it in the basement which has a sump pump but with power outages or excessive rainfall, doesnt always catch everything.

I too bought the unit based on the vendors reputation. It is small and powered my Dell D600 laptop without a problem using the battery adapter, but it got pleasantly warm. But there were some issues.

1. You must press a button to power it on and the small blue LED is very hard to see. If the power is interrupted, you've got to press the button to turn it on again. I'd prefer a slide or rocker switch for always on if powered.

2. The cigarette adapter didn't stay securely plugged into either receptacle on my Dodge 2500 truck. The slightest touch interrupted power and the unit shut off. Other adapters, (which have a shorter nose) worked fine. Attempted to contact the vendor using their contact WWW page to see if there was an alternate adapter. ... Read More:
