Belkin Mini Concealed Surge Protector

This is my second surge protector from BELKIN.
My first one was the bigger model for my home theater equipment, but this time I went for the smaller version for my laptop.
The stores in my area are selling it for much more than AMAZON, so I saved myself some money and the salestax.
Look at the great warranty that BELKIN has.
Their products are quality. Get it, it looks great the way the wires are concealed.

I certainly wouldn't doubt that it's one of those products that might not work (just maybe) but for me who has had no problems (whatsoever) - it's a dream come true. I walk into my room and the light goes on - I can have my hands full or not... I've even given it out as Christmas presents and have set it up for people who are in the health care business, providing a nice warning system for when a "patient" get's up at night "unsupervised".

They sell the product at a local hardware store - I would without a second thought (for the money they charge for it) buy it and of course replace it with another if it didn't work.... I find these bulbs to be very bright and a great value, they do appear to me to be a bit on the yellow side though. They are a bit slow to start, that is to get to full brightness. It takes about 1 to 2 seconds for them to initially light, and another 30 seconds or so to be fully lit. Getting these new bulbs also got me around to FINALLY cleaning the lamp shades and globes:-)!

The entire unit comes in 2 peices - a circular bracket which goes around the energy meter and a handheld device.

The bracket needs to be installed around the power meter which measures the power consumed and transmits to the handheld unit.

The main setup that is required to be done is on the handheld unit where you need to enter the energy costs - cost per kwh (you will find this on your energy bill). Once this setup is complete, you can measure the amount of electricity consumed by each of the devices in your household.

Priced several strings of lights. This one was exactly the length I needed for my patio. Gives subdued lighting and it cost very little compared to other options. All the hanging brackets were included and were easy to use.

This item offered here (PowerLine 0900-27 Global Power Travel Kit) is actually two different converters built into one package. At LOW setting (up to 50W), it uses a small AC transformer to convert 220V sinusoidal waveform into a 110V sinusoidal waveform. This is the preferred approach which works well for any low power appliance.

To handle higher power, however, the AC transformer must be made bulkier and heavier (around 20 pounds just for 1000W). This makes it impractical as a travel voltage converter for large-wattage appliance. Normande Halogen Desk Lamp, Brushed Steel

Took the lamp out of the box and had to insert the halogen bulb (was not in place as shipped). Placed the lamp on the desk and the counter lever gear broke off of the stand. No stress applied but the gear was stripped and the bar holding it in place was broken. There was no apparent damage to the box. Frankly, for the price of return shipping it's not worth paying for an exchange. You can definitely do better .... AVOID THIS PRODUCT!!!!

GE SmartHome Electronics Motion-Sensing Security Nightlight (51185)

Works exactly as described, motion sensor works great and only comes on at night once motion is detected.

I have 4 of these installed in the hallway to my bedroom which used to be dark. Now these lights turn on in a row as I walk down the hallway only to shut off automatically after 60 seconds.

Great product, I'm putting these things all over the house.
