I selected this brand and model in part because of favorable reviews in several woodworking magazine product comparisons. I was not disappointed in my choice - I have been using the router almost daily for about a month and love it. Some features I particularly like are the ease of removal of the base - unlatch, twist and it's off. Arbor lock makes bit removal a one-wrench operation. There is good visibility of the bit for following layout lines, especially if you use a transparent base plate. The small horsepower and soft start make it easy to control for fine work but it has sufficient power to cut cleanly if you don't force deep cuts. It's cheaply made. That's a sticker on the top of it, not the logo stamped on plastic and the color of my sticker doesn't match the case. The driver guide isn't the one pictured and I didn't really like the action on mine (something scratches the inner cylinder as it moves back and forth. I have an identical Chinese-made DeWalt driver-guide I got from a hex bit kit with slightly smoother action.

I criticized another reviewer for complaining about 7 identical bits, not realizing that the bit types and sizes are actually stamped in the plastic which bugs me more for some reason, as labeling it wrong makes it seem like a dumber thing to do.

I build small furniture mostly out of oak. I have been buying new bits for every project I take on. The oak would eat up the bits in no time and start splintering the wood around the hole. I spent anywhere from $2 - $10 for a new bit every time. I thought that there had to be a better way. I found this online and figured I would try it. My wife bought me one for Christmas before I could buy it. I begged her into giving it to me early and just sharpened my first bit with it. I put a few holes into a scrap piece of oak. No splinters. The bit made an extremely clean cut. Better than a new bit, as a matter of fact. This is a must buy for anyone working with hardwoods.

Inexpensive; bought for the torq bits. Allowed me to disassemble 2 laptop hard drives no problem.

Bits are a little soft though; so not sure how long they will last.

I didn't use it myself but my guys said it worked great and saved a lot of time in laying an ipe deck, 1x6 pieces that didn't really want to bend much. The BoWrench tweaked them right into line.

i am a novice at compressors. after reading the reviews of the different compressors, this looked like the best one for my needs; and it is. BUT the instruction manual is written for an experienced user. it is not explanatory at all. in fact i called the factory after i couldn't figure out how some of the fittings go together. the customer service person had to ask someone else. except for the instruction manual though, this is a great unit, & i'll get a lifetime of use out of it.

I purchased this combo kit just over one year ago. I waited to write a review so that I could address any problems that might come up with it.
I will do as another reviewer and break mine up into a few sections.

The impact driver is the main reason I bought this kit, and I was not disappointed. Driving screws before using this beast was a a chore at best. Using an impact driver makes the task SO much easier. It may not be the most powerful one out there, but I have broken heads off screws and small bolts, so for me, it is rather adequate. While it will drive long deck screws and lag screws without a pilot hole, I drill one anyway to avoid splitting. It is very light, extremely comfortable in the hand, and superbly balanced. While I am not a woodworking expert, I have enjoyed getting to know this tool. It seems very well made for the price point. As has been mentioned, it is lacking some of the finer features of high end units, but has been an excellent entry level router. I have used this as both hand held and bench mounted and it seems to have all the power I need. The switch location has been mentioned as a problem, so I have been VERY careful about how I hold the router when switching ON and OFF. Obviously this is not an issue when table mounted. I would highly recommend this router.
