Fisher-Price World of Little People Learn About Town

I like this toy because my two-year-old twins can play with it at the same time without arguing. We got it last week, and it's still the main draw in the playroom. It comes with a boy and a girl doll, and a 4-part town for them to explore: a school, the dentist and doctor, the pet store and a pizza shop, and a swing under an apple tree.

A voice counts out loud as you push apples into the tree, and my son loves this best. My daughter likes to put the dolls in the pizza shop, and put the pizzas in the oven. They love pushing anything that results in a song, voice or sound, and there's lots of that here. I'm not sure this toy would hold the attention of 5-year-olds, but I think it's perfect for 2-3 year olds.

Dude Van Playset

We got this van for our nine year old son for his birthday. He had a couple of the Tech Deck Dudes and he loves to use them on home-made ramps, so this seemed like it would be fun for him. Well, when he opened it, his eyes got very big, he smiled, and asked if he could open it...right now! You have to put a few pieces together and the instructions aren't that clear but it was pretty common sense, especially if you look at the pictures on the box.

When it is assembled it is a van that rolls. When you press a button, the van opens into a skate park with various ramps and rails and a few imaginative details. There is a DJ/dance floor area, complete with record player and a small wall of boom boxes. Spin the record and the dance ... Read More:

Scooby-Doo Figure 5-Pack

My son received the Mystery Inc figures along with the Mystery Machine for his birthday. He's rough on everything. The figures have held up well. They have been used in the bathtub as well as in the Mystery Machine and have no scratches, missing limbs or other disfigurments.

They DID NOT smell bad to me. I think this may depend on the batches that were manufactured.

They are based on the New Scooby Doo characters. So, Daphne does not have her boots and Fred is dressed more modernly. It is true that Velma is lacking undergarments. But then again, it's hard to be ladylike in a plastic skirt.

HOT WHEELS Trick Tracks Triple Stunt Starter Set

If your kids love Hot Wheels, then this is great! My 7 & 4 year old love it! So many ways to set up the tracks, makes my 7 year old really think. We'll definitely be purchasing more additions for X-mas.

The Dark Knight Batman Stealth Launch Batmoblie Vehicle

My son is usually quick to get frustrated and sometimes has trouble figuring out new toys all on his own. But when he got this Batman car for his 6th birthday, he took to it immediately and had no trouble figuring it out on his own without directions. He was upset that batman didn't come off of the motorcycle because he wanted him to sit in the car too but we remedied that with a few dollars towards another figure. He and his 2 (almost 3) year old brother can have an hour or so of fun each time they get this out playing shoot and retrieve with Batman :) Batman shoots out fast and far which is exciting to them both.

Mega Bloks King Arthur Battle Action Castle

While hardcore building block enthusiasts might balk at the large pre-built sections, King Arthur's castle is a very nice balance of pieces and playability that can appeal to both young children (8+) and collectors. Lots of nice details, like a fireplace, food items, blacksmith's anvil, and a hunting hound add to what is otherwise a nicely designed (but unexceptional) fantasy medieval set. The Round Table included is a beautiful piece, but it has a very interesting assortment of names gilded on it--opting to include many of the lesser knights while ommitting some of the more prominant ones. Odd, but cool looking.

Amazon has way overpriced the line of dc superheros. Any discount chain has them in stock for no more than $6.00 a figure and $12.oo a vehicle. Yes, this summer they were hard to find, but the were new on the market. Now, the holidays are near, the test market is done, and these toys are highly available. So for all of those trying to save a few take a trip to a local store and if you can't find a piece ask to look in the back or try back in a few days.
