This is a great gag gift for a therapist or psych student. It works like the Mattel Magic 8 Ball. You make a therapy statement or ask a therapy question, like "I'm so mad at my boss I want to quit. What should I do, Dr. Freud?" Then shake the ball, and Dr. Freud comes up with one of six "helpful" therapeutic response. Hilarious!

I originally bought this when I was curious about divination, as other forms of divination didn't seem to be worth the trouble that it took to try to become good with them. Then, at the suggestion of a friend, I bought this set.
I have owned this for more than 10 years and have used it fairly regularly.
I don't know how historically accurate or not the author's interperetations are, but his definitions of what each rune stands for and how they interact are eerily accurate.
I am not a rune master and never will be, but I find them easier to use and more accurate than Tarot.
The stones are a little difficult to spiritually charge, but they can be, and become even more accurate.

I am a big fan off this kind of balls,and I kept using my friend's 8 ball. Eventually I decided to get one for myself. when I got the ball, it was huge disappointment. The sign always stuck up in two different answer, sometimes you can't even see the answer. It is a waste of money.

I was a little disappointed with the quality of this item. They seemed to be cheaply mass produced but, they would work for a beginner. To be honest though I may have been spoiled by the fact that I have a 1972 vintage set of Rider-waite cards and the quality is much better.

I have owned this deck for many, many years. After purchasing and trying out numerous other decks, I seem to always return to this one. A tarot deck must speak to the reader, and this one speaks to my heart and always has something fascinating and new to tell me. The drawings are rich and multilayered, crossing boundaries of ethnicity and gender, but such authenticity seems to have been channeled through the author almost subconsciously, as it appears natural rather than intentional and forced. The colors in this deck are extensive and well utilized, ranging from pastels to primary colors. The cards are sturdy and a pleasing, practical size. I've used this Tarot book for over 15 years, and have bought multiple copies for friends. It is the most understandable book I've read for really "getting" the cards. It has a few pages devoted to explaining the "Moon" card, since this is a tricky one to understand. It also has spreads in the back, and Tarot numerology. I cannot recommend it highly enough.
