My daughter was 3 when she got the art studio for her v.smile. She LOVES it! She is now 4.5 and its held up great! Shes learned a lot from it ... just today she told a lady at a store that her favorite color is magenta. Great product!!

This board is great for any aspiring author, artist, you name it! Like most of typical magnetic boards out there, this one will eventually start to accumulate dark spots around the board. I haven't seen one yet that doesn't do this, but it's taken awhile for it to happen here.

I don't like how long the string on the pen is, it needs to be a bit longer. It's attached in the back of the unit, in the upper right. To write in a normal position in all areas of the board, you need the string to come over the top of the board. However, based on where you grabbed it, sometimes the pen string will come across the side, and due to the curvature of the board, gets "stuck" there, so no matter how hard you pull you can't give the pen any more ... Finally found a source for this "magic slate" item. My kids LOVE this product. With no messy pens/ink to ruin their clothes. A fun source of continuing enjoyment -- the slates are kept in my car for their entertainment while traveling to/from school, shopping, everywhere.

I remember I used to have one when I was a kid. I love it so much, then and now. Very easy to play, not much cleaning required, no mess!! It will keep your kid's imagination growing while they can't easily destroy it. Only one problem, the magnet screen will not be able to 100% clear out after few uses.

My 1 year old son LOVES this toy. We bought it for him to stay occupied on several plane trips. I love that I don't have to worry about him drawing on the plane seats or anything else. I love that the "pen" is attached. Problems are the board is too big to fit in his diaper bag or easily carry on the plane, the magnetic shapes are already lost and the drawer the shapes stay in constantly slides open. however, I can't argue with the entertainment value! My son loves it!
