My younger daughters (ages 5 and 7) and their friends love to play with this! They love to manipulate the dough/clay and use their creativity to make their own crazy little alien critters by mixing and matching the heads and bottoms. The fact that they can make more alien critters while the others are "setting" is great because kids don't like to wait to have to make another one.
I also like that you can store the parts in the alien ship and not have them all over the floor and lost!

I gave this to my niece for her fourth birthday and she loves it. My sister tells me that as soon as it was out of the box Katherine played with it for two hours. The area on top has plenty of space to go nuts with the play-doh and the storage underneath is huge. Another big plus......my sister tells me it takes a long time to play with so little Katherine is busy for a good chunk of time. One thing I didn't know is that it comes with play-doh...Bonus!

It's a lot of fun to play with, and my three year old loves playing with it, but, MAN, is it hard to clean. Whoever designed the thing ought to be put in time out.

Basically, the play-doh is shoved down the top of the octopus and comes out at a right angle at the bottom. This works pretty well (but it's a little hard for the little one). When he's all done though, there is inevitably play-doh gets stuck in the bottom of the tube. The tube itself is too long to push the play-doh through with your finger, and the right angle makes it so that, even if you do force it down, you have to some how push it out the front. Play Doh's Magic Swirl Ice Cream Shoppe is such a delight and my 3.5 year old daughter has had many happy hours of fun with it. The set comes with 4 cans of play-doh in brown, pink, green,and white sprinkle doh. There are over 40 molds to create tiny confections of delight. It also comes with two plastic cones for making 'ice cream', two sundae plastic containers, a plastic "cake" that can be decorated, three spoons, etc.

The attachments to create swirls of 'ice cream', 'toppings' squeezer, and 'sprinkles' cranker are all easy to fit. My little one was able to manipulate the attachments with some effort but she could do so independently.

Anything Diego or Dora is a hit with my Grandson, he's 2 and 1/2. Messy, it can be but FUN, always... I think Play-Doh might be addictive. LOL! I know Diego is.

I bought this at the last minute as a filler to get above the $25 dollar mark for free shipping. However I haven't regretted the purchase at all. My daughter loves the feeling of mashing together play-doh in her hands as well as flattening out the play-doh and cutting it into various shapes and sizes.

The only drawback I would say to this is that it can stick to the carpet (we avoid this) and it dries out quickly if you leave it in the open too long.

I have only word for this - fantastic - this one derives its inspiration straight from real kids and their parents...what do kids love more than variety - they really don't care that its a small container of play doh - as long as there are many of them. and what do parents love more than the fact that even if some of the play doh is left out and dries up, as it will sometimes, there's so much more....and you really can't beat the price

The best way to use this product is in small quanities - I let my daughter choose 2 new colors every week and play with those and all the others she has open already...granted no color looks anything like it started out, but hey, childhood is all that and more....
