I bought this at Target for my 11 month old, and she thinks these blocks are okay. She doesn't really play with them much. She will throw them, but that's about it. She doesn't care for what's inside. Not worth almost $30.

First, these blocks are 1 3/4--1.75--inches tall/square. That is an excellent size. On one side is embossed the capital letter and border design, and the lower case of the same letter is embossed with a border design on the opposite side.
Each block is all the same color--they come in dark colors of red, blue and green. The designs of images starting with the letter--same letter as embossed on two sides of the block--are the same color, and very neat and distinct. They include a picture and a name for each design/side. They are very interesting to look at.
The tray is not as tall as the blocks, which makes it easier to reach in and remove a block. There are also two block spaces empty, which helps with removing one, ... Read More:

Thomas Alphabet House
I bought these for my nephew's first birthday, he absolutely loves Thomas the Tank Engine. I let him play with them and he preferred to either throw them or bang two together. I decided to put them up until he is older. The only thing keeping all the blocks in place are two plastic covers (which are not very durable) that slide on and off very easily, so unless you prefer to pick up all the blocks I recommend leaving the tape on. The complete alphabet is included once, but the other blocks just seem to have been randomly selected (there are three i's for some reason). The pictures look like they might scratch off easily.

These blocks are attractive and well-made. But I do have a problem with them. Not knowing braille, I felt the braille lettering to see if I could distinguish it. I really can't clearly feel it.
I think the "bumps" need to be deeper and larger, to make the braille lettering more clear. I hate to criticize such a fine product, but I do think this would make it better and more useful.
