I love these tarot cards!! I have had a classic rider-waite set for years but the beautiful designs and goddess symbols of this deck are wonderful. The book that comes with the set is also very well written and has some great sample readings, and layouts that are worth a try. It comes in a handy set that easily fits on my bookshelf. I would recommend this set to anyone who wants a beautiful yet usable tool.

This deck features the stunningly beautiful dark art work of Luis Royo. I picked up my copy of this deck almost 10 years ago at a comic shop in Santa Monica, CA. The major arcana imagery is comparable to most average decks, but the art on the minor arcana is primarily just art. It will not give you insight into meaning unless you already know your way around a deck of Tarot cards. There is a small booklet with some info about card meanings, but it's small and hard to read. I personally use The Complete Idiot's Guide to Tarot (First Edition) to help me read my spreads anyway. If you want something special and different, and have an existing understanding of Tarot reading, I highly recommend this deck of cards.

I have to say I very much enjoy and am enchanted with this set!
I have over 200 Tarot and Oracle decks and this one is a top fave. The art is so rich and colourful. Just looking at it gives one a sense of peace and calm. The cards are failrly large and the printing quality is wonderful, the colours are vivid, deep, rich and very evocative. I adore the backs! The quality of the cardstock could have been better though, but I've certainly seen worse cardstock in oracles. It's not THAT bad. The cards will hold up fine as long as you treat your deck with respect and love (as you should treat them anyways) and not be rough and careless with them.
The book I was very plesantly surprised with. I wasn't sure what to expect, but Nancy ... Read More:

This is much like Luis Royo's The Black Tarot & Tarot decks by other contemporary artists: Beautiful classic artwork by the artist that is not designed for actual Tarot use due to lack of typical symbolic archetypes on the cards. The pip cards are simply the number of that case's items---no true artwork. This is nice for its artwork & its novelty.
I have about 6 different Tarot decks already, and like them all, but recently a friend showed me hers- the Fenestra deck, and I had to have them. Firstly, the artwork is just gorgeous, and very elaborate. Each picture conveys the meaning of the card so well, you already instinctively know what it means. Then the guidebook is perfect. While other tarot books ramble on with a multitude of meanings for each card, this one gets straight to the point, making it much easier to understand the meanings of each card. I highly recommend this deck!

Firstly, there is nothing at all innovative about a "Tarot deck and card game" Not only may one play games with the Tarot deck, game playing, not fortune telling, was initially the main purpose of the Tarot. The superstitious trappings of the Tarot deck came at a much later date.
Secondly, there are much better Tarot decks for game playing. There are European Tarot decks of more modern design which include double headed figures or the French suits of hearts, spades, clubs, and diamonds and they sometimes feature corner indices. These European made decks which may contain 78, 62 or 54 cards depending on region are far superior to this baroque abomination. Like most so-called "new age" or "occult" decks, this LOTR Tarot card game is ill suited for game playing.

I had this deck sitting around for some time, and decided to give it a second glance. It is a nice production as far as the craftsmanship is concerned and stands out among other "Egyptian"
themed decks. I would love to believe that the deck came from some recently discovered treasury beneath the sands. Historically this cannot be proven, rendering the credibility of the deck a mere fantasy.
It is interesting to see so many connections to Egypt and the Tarot. I am sure if this were the case, the Ibis Tarot would be probably what the cards looked like. The scribe god is on the back of each card. Students of Egyptology, Egyptian mythology/religion and serious Tarot collectors would really enjoy the cards.
Now the downside. All of the minor cards are not illustrated ... Read More:
