The game is a fun to play, but my kids (6 and 3 years old) didn't quite get it. The board quality is pretty low (just a sheet of molded plastic over a piece of cardboard), and there is no place to hold the pieces besides the flimsy box the game comes in. I don't expect the pieces to stay with the board very long, and will probably have to use a ziploc or something to keep it all together.
The game itself is fun. My 3 year old could push down the popper herself with some effort, and that was her favorite part of the game. I agree with others that younger kids will get frustrated not rolling a 6 to get a piece out of home. I allowed them 2-3 pops to give them a chance to play. The game is more fun with more people, but that also ... Read More:

This is a good family fun game. Allows for fun and insight and uniqueness for each person. I really enjoyed playing as a group for an afterdinner party. Good game, not the best I have played, but not the worst either. Good clean fun.

We have fun playing this game. However, with 3 of us, we need an expansion as I always stop my son from having the longest road and steal the reward and he's in his 20's!

I recently received this game for friends and family to play. I've read a lot of reviews about the game. I liked that the gameplay is quick to learn. Rules can be explained in five minutes. EVERYONE loved the game. We played it with couples and the girls REALLY loved it which is a bonus. THis is a great gateway game. Your girlfriend will love playing it, your wife will love playing it
Over the years I've found that Yahtzee is one of those timeless classics that kids really love. They enjoy throwing the dice and dig the sound of dice jostling about in the container. It does assist with basic math skills--at least a little--and draws on the competitive instincts of young boys in particular. Sometimes, with really antsy children, I let them stand and toss their dice against the wall which adds to their enjoyment. Besides, the price of the game just can't be beat. It sure as heck is a better use of time that your average video game.
At first, I hesitated purchasing the electronic edition of Battleship which cost $40 over the traditional one for $15. I am so glad I purchased it! I have 4 children, 3 of which are old enough to play and understand the game. They play for hours, with each winner playing the next person!Definitely worth the money, and a great gift if you can put aside the actual battling aspect of the game!

I bought this when my twins were 3 1/2. It was a cheap item, there are no pieces to lose, and it's simple enough that the girls can play together. If they want you to play with them, the game is very quick. The top jaw has fallen off a few times but I think this was my girls' fault - too rough with it - and each time, I've snapped it back on.
They sure don't make things as durable as they used to! We owned this game as kids and bought it for our son last Christmas. The game hasn't changed much but it's construction has. The parts are cheap and don't fit into the board well and as you're playing it can take a couple of tries to make everything work in sync.

I was very excited to find this for sale because my girlfriend and I had been looking for it for quite some time in every store we entered. We are both big fans of the Harry Potter books and the Harry Potter movies. I have read them all twice and she has read them all at least 3 times, and we own all 5 movies.
However, playing the game can be a bit of a trying experience. Many of the questions are simply too obscure. Perhaps they are aimed at the totally obsessed Potterphiles. Or maybe I am just too confident in my knowledge of things to admit that I'm not very good at this game. Either way, many of the questions are related to the names of actors who play minor roles, or about the slightest production details that only someone who is completely obsessed ... Read More:
Nice tin & good ideas on the cards.
My only problem is that it states up to age 12 for this one, and it was a little boring for my 10 year old. I do think that children under 2nd or 3rd grade will love playing this, so I will keep it in mind for the younger ones, but the age recomendations are not totally accurate.
It does have great ideas you could even use on road trips or just for fun anytime, so it's a keeper. Nice little tin it comes in too, easy to pop in your purse for when the family is eating out and need something to do while you wait for your food with younger kids.
