EyeClops Night Vision Infrared Stealth Goggles

When I heard that the EyeClops Stealth Googles use real night vision technology, I thought, "I wish they had that when I was a kid!" I envisioned running around in the darkness, playing tag or Capture the Flag, and being able to see exactly where I was going. While this toy does indeed work as advertised, any kid running with it on is likely to get creamed. I see it more as a "spy in the dark" kind of toy.

The scope is a small square on the right eye, and you get a postage stamp view of the world. The detail, within ten to fifteen feet is amazing; any farther than that, and it's difficult to make out what you're seeing. We bought this for my daughter as part of HomeSchooling's projects. She and my husband work together but mainly our 8-year-old does it pretty much on her own- very fun and easily instructed! What a great product!!!!

Celestron SkyScout Personal Planetarium

I purchased the unit brand new, installed good quality batteries and installed the software on the computer and updated the software on the unit to newest version. in a clear field with NO METALS, power lines, watches ets. it displayed a magentic error icon as well as an odd lat/log. using another gps i entered the gps cord.from this unit and it shows that my field in maine has been telported to south eastern CHINA!!! I rebooted it many times and same results, new batteries same results. the moon i could see was indicated as not being present.
entered in the correct gps cord. manually and it worked perfectly. also the magnetic icon dissapeared. however after shut down and startup it said i was in china and all needed to be reentered. ... Read More:

Live Butterfly Garden

My daughter recieved this as a gift and I was pretty skeptical, but lo and behold -- we successfully raised all ten caterpillars and released them as adult butterflies. You don't need to feed or interact with the caterpillars: they come in transparent sealed containers with their own food. This means that kids can't play with them (my daughter was disappointed that her new pets couldn't walk on her fingers) but also means that you do not need to deal with the mountains of caterpillar poop that they produce.

My son got this kit for his 10th birthday six months ago. Both of his folks are electricians, so he naturally has a lot of curiosity. It's seen hours of use, by a bunch of boys ages 8 to 10. On the down side, one of the pegs on the board has snapped off (doesn't affect performance), and the speaker has been a bit troublesome (sometimes loud enough, sometimes too quiet).

On the up side, the issues have been minor, and the pieces are surprisingly durable. The kids are learning to troubleshoot their work, checking for loose connections and misplaced devices. Wild Planet A Pirate's Life Treasure Hunter

We bought this game for our son on his 6th birthday. He had a pirate themed party. It's an easy game to grasp - Hide-n-seek and hot/cold. When you get warm and the X changes to yellow you are really warm. You almost have to be on top of it for it to change to red (hot). It's a fun game though. He likes it more when he hides it and mommy and daddy have to find it. I can see the novelty wearing off soon, but it's been fun.

EyeClops Bionic Eye Multizoom, Green

My 6 yr old son got this as a gift, and although I was skeptical at first, I have now eaten my words. It is a breeze to set up, and once you do, the view is great! My son looked at the carpet, and it was really clear and looked like a microscope. We also looked at his hair, my husbands hands, paper, chicken etc. We went crazy!

Anyone that even slightly enjoys science will love this toy.

The good..
once you get a resolution focused you can see light objects fairly well.

The bad...
Lighting is very poor. the very small leds make any darker material impossible to see.
Very hard to focus, need to turn the entire front of the housing, can't do it "on the fly"
Changing magnification requires refocusing.

most kids will need assistance using this.

NEEDS BETTER LIGHTING, you also can not increase lighting with a flash light or anything, so it's light material or nothing

I bought this product and a microscope for both of my grandsons for Christmas. They still enjoy them. They are both 8 years old and it introduced them to a whole new world.

My 5-year old just started Kindergarten, but LOVES math (which they will only really cover a little of sometime this year). I bought this for him after his first day of school (he's "earned" a toy, and the one he planned on wasn't available). He choose this instead. He loves it. Its easy to use, even for one not too accustomed to computers, etc. He has had trouble with other electronic toys that try to get him to answer in X seconds, but loves that this tells him how long it took him, but doesn't pressure him to get it done in a certain time. The progression from easier to harder on the levels is great. He was "way past" some early levels, but he could do some mid-levels and still be challenged.
