My 6 year old son bought this game. He has really enjoyed playing it. Here is what he thinks of the game in his own words.
This game is awesome. There are eight different cars. They all have there own short-cuts for each race.
The Shark Cruiser can go thru an under water short cut in the Island race. The Invader can go thru snow in the Artic race. The Arachamna Rod can drive on spider webs in the Jungle race. The Jet Threat 4.0 can fly thru its short cuts on the Sky race. The RD04 can surf over lava in the Volcano race. The Drift King can jump over a building for its short-cut in the Urban Street race. The Dune Buggy can go on sand track cars can't go on in the Desert race. The Nascar has no short-cuts. ... Read More:

My kids (age 5, 3, 2) all love this although it keeps the attention of my youngest for the longest. The two cars it comes with are little, plastic, and lightweight. They fly down the track. Of our 20 or so metal diecast cars, we have ONE that is small and light enough to be equally as fast (I think it has a plastic body). Some of the others fit down the track but are slow because of their weight; still others are too long to make it down the tight spiral and get stuck. In theory it shouldn't matter if the track works with any other cars - except that we all know the two it comes with will someday be lost! It would just take a little hunting at Walmart or Target to find a small, lightweight replacement.

We just received this for our 3 and 5 year-old sons as a Birthday gift. It is Mickey, so they loved it right away, however the track does not stay together very well and is very frustrating for the kids. Parents - stay close while the kids play with it because you will have to constantly snap pieces back together! We have tons of Fisher Price toys and have even been toy testers for them before. I am shocked that this came on the market with the issues it has. Especially for the price, I would think twice about this one.

My son recived this as a gift and just loves it! I have bought a couple to give as gifts myself and kids seem to just love it! Good toy, built well, great for the imagination.

This toy is very flimsy, it never stayed together long enough to do one single race. I would not recommend this product to anyone unless you want a lot of frustration. Not worth it at all.

I purchased this for my 3-year old nephew and he just loves it. I have found that even the girls that come to visit enjoy playing with this set. The track was designed for two cars to race side-by-side with a starting point that allows for the cars to begin to race at the same time with the press of a lever. The starting point is a section of the track that contains a plastic pop-up piece that when the pop-up is up, it keeps the cars in place until the release button is pushed. It is so simple to use, just shake the cars for about 5 seconds, put them on top of the pop-up and press the button. The cars go racing off, going up ramps and jumping off ramps, racing around the track until there is either a crash or the cars stop. When the cars do crash, ... Read More:

My wife and I intended this toy to be a traveling companion since it folds up in an easy-to-carry case. Once our two boys -- ages 5 and 4 -- opened it up, they were entranced for hours. They quickly incorporated other pirate toys and Matchbox cars and pulled me down on their floor rug, where we role played pirate adventures.
"Papa, watch out for the crocodile!"
The toy is durable but you can't abuse it. There are lots of small parts -- pirates, cannonballs and a crocodile that snap into place.
This playset is best enjoyed with more than one person, kids and adults.

My son loves this toy and could play with it for hours! He uses the cars that came with it, but also uses other matchbox cars. In fact, that's part of the fun...the weight of the different cars varies so that adds some suspense to which car will make it down the ramp the fastest. The winner is then paired up with another car, then the winner of that race is paired up with another, and so on. We'll have about 25+ matches to come up with a grand prize winner, and then we do it all over again. It's a lot of fun and it keeps him entertained for a long time!!
