I purchased this kit for my five year old nephew and he absolutely loves it. There are some pretty nasty items in the kit but if you don't mind gross things, it's a hoot!! A nice combo of tricks and gags.

Moon Sand Adventure Island

I purchased moon sand for my son after watching all the ads on TV about how great it is. The first time my son played with the sand I knew it was not going to be around long. As he tried to make the molded figures they either fell apart or stuck in the mold. You do need to pack the mold tightly then hit the mold on the table to get it out, something my kids had trouble with and I was always having to help with. So he became frustrated and I found myself making the objects. I to decided it was not very much fun. Once you do set up all the items you can add water to it and pretend to play but I think I will stick to Play-doh. Plus Play-doh is cheaper.

The girls (3 and 5 year old) liked working and designing the box but got bored after a while. too expensive for the materials and the quality of the box.

My son is going into 3rd grade. This summer he's been working on math, grammar/writing. This is his favorite non-math workbook. The directions are clear and instructive - he doesn't need me to help him understand what he needs to do. The sentence expanding and paragraph building exercises aren't as exhausting for him as those in other writing workbooks.

This is a really fun and creative kit. My seven year old received this as a gift and without any assistance went right to making dog clothes for the cut out dog dolls. There are lots of options, fabrics and trim to use with patterns. You are only limited by your creativity and ability with scissors!
