This is a wonderful first set of crayons for a smaller child. The crayons are triangular so the child can hold it in his small hands. As with all Melissa and Doug toys, it is very nicely presented so it makes a good gift (ages 15 months and up). - Noga Rosenthal

My daughter always played with the blades on the scissors that were given to her in school. Although they were deemed "safe" I was always afraid that she might jam her fingers in those spring loaded scissors with metal blades.
These have no metal blades or edges and it is a great way to get them to play with it without worrying that they will hurt themselves. They come in 2 types, straight and the pinked edges. It is good way to get them to feel comfortable using a scissors.

I bought these paints for use with the Melissa & Doug Deluxe Standing Easel & Companion Supply Set Bundle. They work just fine with the Melissa and Doug paper rolls, and my only criticism is that these little bottles don't last very long, or are at least not the ideal choice for a toddler who is using big brushes. Each little container might last at most three painting sessions, depending on if you use the paint "full strength" or watered down, and how much you pour into the plastic containers. Unless your child is using smaller brushes or you are unconcerned with how long the little bottles will last, I would recommend purchasing the much larger Blue Poster Paint Bottle and the other colors. I used this book for my younger child's school memories starting in preschool and loved it! It prompts you, or your child, to record their favorite school subject, sport, book, and even movie year to year. If you write neatly there is ample room to journal. You do have to use tape to attach school pictures but with any double sided scrapbooking tape it is very easy and takes little time. There is a large pocket for every year to put some additional pictures, special art work, or other memorabilia for years to come. Every year has room to tape the class picture. This is an awesome kit for kids, tweens and adults to make absolutely great butterfuly decorations for your bedroom (or any room your butterfly might choose to bunk in!)

This is a fun project (requires care to protect area from staining while working) and it is almost guaranteed to make you want to turn out more, more, more!

Great family fun here, and highly recommended.
