100 Unit Painted Blocks in Wood Crate

We purchsed these blocks a year ago for our oldest son upon the recommendation of his early intervention specialist. They have been great and we all enjoy building with them. You can use them for so many skills other than just building. We started by separating just the one-inch blocks and having him practice stacking them. You may know that the number of one-inch blocks a child can stack is a judge of developmental milestones. Because they are brightly colored we also used them for color sorting and eventually patterning (we build a tower in a pattern and he copies it.). Now he is using them to build three-dimensional pieces. However, we have been adding back pieces so that he is not overwhelmed by the sheer number of pieces.

This a high quality traditional toy. My 8 year boy loves it. Took a while to get it spinning but now he's an expert. Gets 4 stars because I believe the tip won't last very long and there doesn't seem to be a way to replace it.

I never thought the blocks were as tiny as they are! Not something I'm even comfortable letting my 5 yr. old play with not to mention I have a 7 mo. old who just began crawling... Maybe I can re-gift them down the line.

At first I hesitated to buy these blocks because I thought the price was ridiculous so I split the cost with my sister and my mom, and if I had to do it again I would pay for them on my own.
